I guess that explains how Oscar ended up in Gensokyo. What now? Excitedly waiting for the next chapter :)

:O A new chapter mid-week, that's awesome! To start this off, I'm so happy my man Oscar finally went to sleep after all this time. Is this really the first time he gets rest in this story? Also, it's nice that Keine didn't bother him for too long :). Anyways we currently have to choose Oscar's dream. If you remember my last post here, I've been wanting to take a more careful route, in order to prepare for Kimiko. So I was very tempted to choose a dream that would foreshadow danger. But... kind of going back on my word here... I'm more curious about Oscar's backstory at the moment, "You awaken back in your bed in the Outside World." My main reason is that we don't know much about him. He's a magician, has fancy flares up his sleeves, a rabbit in his hat, and... that's about it. With a chapter focused on his old life I think we'll get to know more about his personality, and maybe even another trick that hasn't been mentioned before.Which I think will help us all out in the long-term, and help us think more like Oscar. Hopefully that makes sense. What did everyone else choose? Curious to hear others' thoughts on this one P.S. You added "Do not fear choosing the wrong answer. All will be revealed in time... " at the end, so I better not see Oscar get jumped right after I choose the more carefree option XD

Pentastar I think it's important to ask what genres you are interested in, before we all swamp you with 500 different circles If you want some recommendations for electronic music like techno, hardcore, trance, etc. then let me know Good choices that anyone can enjoy In case you don't know, Yuuhei Satellite and Akatsuki Records make vocals, and IOSYS makes a bunch of different stuff and also gave birth to many popular memes. Personally I don't listen to them too often so I'd be glad to be corrected. Also, if you like Yuuhei Satellite then you might also like Yellow Zebra or Yonder Voice. They make really nice vocal arranges too. I've never heard of Tennnengemini but listening to a song or two from them, they're quite good too :) So I guess there's even more vocals if you enjoyed the ones mentioned above. Hi, sorry I haven't been too active for the past week or two. I've kept getting distracted by other things during whatever free time I had. Anyways, I'm loving where the story is going with the human village! As Gri mentioned, I think it's great to finally be out of the forest and into a new situation. At first I was slightly bummed that I didn't get to find out what an 'indian rope trick' is, but the hilarious magic trick with the music balls (?) was more than enough to make up for it You sure got an awesome imagination Yumetou, I'm excited to see what other wild tricks you can come up with in the future :D As for the latest chapter, I'm really curious and worried to find out how Kimiko and the other yokai will catch Oscar. If I recall, this is the first time we see a cut to different perspective, and boy does it build some suspense. Let's see if Oscar will eventually face her head-on again, or if us readers can carefully guide him safely (or at least prepare him with a strong advantage)... personally I think it would be interesting to put an end to Kimiko's terror, so whenever I get the chance, I'll try to tip the scales to prepare Oscar for a confrontation :). I'd also like to know what everyone else thinks about the current situation, and what there is to do about it Another interesting part was the interaction with Keine. She acted much more serious and direct than I expected. Cutting Oscar off, using snappy one-liners, and only offering tea, despite how tired he must look?! This really must be an interrogation! XD While I'm so tempted to mess with her by choosing the "20 dollars to spend a night" option, I should vote reasonably for once. A normal introduction has worked before, so I'll go with that this time... But if someone ends up choosing one of the funnier options, I might change my vote >:D It's a new setting now, so anything's possible. Who knows, one stray vote and the story could go from a nice little conversation to a completely unrelated street brawl fueled by magic and panic Excited for the next chapter as always, and it would be awesome if you can start writing more frequently (no rush tho)

Title says it- I filmed myself doing several dances. More specifically, it's called "jumpstyle" or "hardjump." You basically jump along a heavy kick beat. Apologies in advance for the video quality. Anyways, I hope everyone can enjoy the video as much as I did making it

Wow! The graphics are really pretty and nice! I especially love the secret spring. Nonetheless all of the other locations also have so much detail with the foreground, background, particles, etc. I'm really impressed that one person can make all this. I think I might take a look and give it a try. Speaking of which, could you please tell more about GNF? More specifically, what you do in the gameplay, how big/long is the game, how much of it is complete, that sort of thing. I'm hoping a short explanation about it will help me and other readers to decide to play the game or not. Anyways, thanks for sharing! It looks beautiful!

Hi, I just tried downloading touhou 10 and I was able to find seeds. Are you using qBitTorrent? I remember I also had the same problem as you when I first tried to download the games. Just gotta fiddle around with the network settings- Tools>Options>Connection>Port>Random might fix it. If that doesn't work, try restarting qBitTorrent or changing other network-related settings. If you're really stuck, I can privately send you the extracted files.

Hi Yumetou, no need to feel bad for taking an extra day! The appearance of Narumi makes things interesting. She's a character I barely heard of, and I assume several others don't know her either. It will definitely make the story more unpredictable and fun :). At the same time, it's a bit tougher to vote for the next choice. What does everyone think? Should Oscar befriend Narumi without fear, or be careful not to trust her? Skimming through the wiki, she doesn't seem like a huge threat to humans, so I chose the option to show her a magic trick. Compared to Agappa, I think she is more timid and easier to impress. We'll see I personally never noticed the options being disabled. I can only see the options available to me, if that makes sense haha. In other words, I don't know what possible options I'm missing out on, so I don't feel penalized. But that's just me, others might feel different. I think that's a great idea! It would be perfect at the end of each post. Since these are weekly posts, it's easy to forget previous events and lose track of Oscar's current status. I do wonder though, what sort of stats will you list? Will it just be something simple like a "level" count and inventory items, or have more detail such as energy levels, location, injuries, etc.? Of course, making it too detailed might take too much time, which might cause more stress and delays, and that I can never hope for. However, my thinking is that once you design the system, you can quickly copy-and-paste it for future posts with minor changes. In the end it's up to you, but I think it would be the addition would be worth it :D Anyways, it's cool to split from Team 9 and see a new character emerge from the shadows! Excited for the next chapter as always

Awesome man!! All Orange fanart is good art! He looks super cool, I especially love the redesigned hat and forearm armor. You've also done great with the coloring and shading :) But maybe some more color on the face? Skin looks pretty pale... still, overall I love it! Please do!

I have to agree with Gri here. Most of these options don't seem effective, especially mimicking Mystia's song haha. While Nyoko brought up good points for the flare, I'm still not convinced it would go well. Oscar by now should have an idea of how dangerous this world is, and carelessly firing a flare is sure to attract attention, as Gri mentioned. I also assume Oscar has a very limited supply of flares, so I think he should only use them for emergencies. I'm a bit torn between asking Agappa and climbing a tree. Once again, I have to disagree with Nyoko's point (nothing personal, I promise!) that Oscar doesn't want to make himself vulnerable . The situation before with Rumia was a moment of panic and adrenaline. At this point in the story, Oscar is fairly familiar with Agappa, and while he is a bit unnerved by her, I don't think he would have trouble turning to her for help. I admit, I'm in a slight rush, so I might have misunderstood what you meant, Nyoko. Climbing a tree also stuck out as a good option, as we know Oscar is clearly tired and is in dire need of rest. But as the chapter introduction stated, even this has its risk, which makes things interesting. Will a plant yokai suddenly lunge at him? If Gri is correct that Agappa would warn Oscar, it might turn out favorably. I gotta say though, it doesn't seem like Oscar would just forget everyone just like that. We saw earlier in the story that he stood up for Rumia and the others, several times. I feel like he would push on and try to reunite with the others. So I've ended up choosing the Agappa option, it might be a bit less action but I think their dialogue might make up for it... It's currently a tie. Curious to see what happens next!

Hi, I'm a few hours late to the party but it's nice to see everyone discussing the latest chapter I think a BBQ party in the forest of magic would be hilarious, and my man Oscar needs some rest too. However, all the votes seem to be spread out this time... Really everyone? One of each reaction?! lol we'll see what happens Aww c'mon Yumetou! I enjoyed you latest post! Personally, since it's only weekly, I don't really mind if the story takes a sudden turn. It's not like I intensively review every chapter and set exact expectations for the following week XD. As long as I can recognize the latest chapter as the same story, then it's good to me. That, and being able to visualize the story in my head. And you seem to be hitting that mark every time :). Anyways, I'm a bit tired today so I'll cut my reply here. Might come back tomorrow to post some interrogative questions as usual

YES YES YES YES YES YES!! Orange is a great choice because of how easy it is to learn about her. She only appears once, so you just read those dialogues and you literally know all about her haha. And she's just in stage 1 so it's easy to play the game yourself and check it out :) As a result, learning her personality is also quite easy. It's always up to personal interpretation, but with lines like "Ahaha, don't underestimate me just because I'm the first stage boss!", anyone could see her as outgoing and likeable. She is practically waiting to be the next protagonist! Meanwhile someone like Elly or Kurumi, they have more passive dialogues, such as "I couldn't help it! The magician (Marisa) forced her way through ^^' I won't take mercy on you though!". I don't think that's the exact line, but you get that it might be harder to prop up Elly as a heroic character. Also, earlier today I was coincidentally thinking about a male Orange cosplay (?!). It's surprisingly easy to convert her outfit to be male. She doesn't wear a huge dress like the other characters, so that part is already taken care of. Just shorten her hair, maybe give her cool shades, and you're done! Once again, Orange would be the perfect candidate for a redesign. She's got so many great qualities :) ...Okay, okay, I admit, she is my favorite character so I just might possibly have a chance to be slightly considered a little bit biased...

I think that works out great! I'm sure nobody would rather envision a "hideous old crone" than a cute 2hu XD. It feels just like something Zun would do when making a new character. At the same time, keeping the personalities and abilities true to original lore is a good choice. It's always interesting to learn about a new yokai, and how they behave :) Speaking of which, I'm thinking of reading Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange things by Lafcadio Hearn. It seems to have many interesting tales of yokai, so I wonder if you know about it. Also, do you think you'll ever come up with a completely original yokai? I mean adding a character that resembles existing yokai, but not directly based off of any. Might make things interesting. I think you have the imagination and knowledge to pull it off well, if you ever give that a try :) Everybody else please vote for Oscar to rest next! :3 Anyways, can't wait to see the next chapter I get you're busy so I understand if you don't respond to this

Hi, I was reading the latest chapter the other day, and it's nice to see the story's still going strong! I'm excited to see what the team will encounter in the Magic Forest (if they go there at all). Keep it up! I'm especially loving all the intricate explanations on the non-touhou youkai. Anyways, no mean criticisms this time ...just a few questions, if you have the time How much of the (non-touhou) mythology is accurate? Is it perfectly matching historical sources, or did you infuse some of your own imagination? The descriptions for things like the Hitotsume Kozo and Yamas are very detailed and interesting. Following up, how do you know so much about this stuff? I remember you mentioned youkai.com in that topic from way before, but I can't imagine you'd be browsing that everyday. I NEED to learn more myself :) I also wonder how you know so much about touhou locations like Muenzuka and the Magic Forest. Curiously, those things never come up when I'm learning about touhou. UNRELATED: I was having trouble finding this topic again, expecting it in All You Can Ask Buffet. I don't want to demand it be moved... but....maybe...?

That's so cool! I didn't think it would be hidden like that. Maybe then, there are other hidden colors in the other games... All the touhou games seem pretty simple in terms of gameplay, so I never would have considered easter eggs like that. By the way, I'm not sure if this counts because it's not a "hidden feature," but the fighting games let you change colors. At least, 12.3, the one I played, has this feature. I'm assuming the other 2-player games (touhou 9, 19) also let you change color? Not sure about that though. I like that 12.3 gives a LOT of options for colors. Orange reimu and orange okuu look awesome :)

Wow, I didn't know those games had that, Marisa looks like an angel with those colors :O I understand touhou 3 would have that for two-player mode, but why does touhou 7 have it? (I have not played pcb before) I also wonder if the color limitation of the PC-98 had an issue with different character colors.
