Sorry for being so terribly late! I've barely had time to go on this site in the past week or two, in fact it's only just now that I read and voted on the latest chapter >.< Ah well, looks like everyone else here slowed down a bit too... HUUGE MISUNDERSTANDING ON MY PART!! It seems like I not only mixed up Rinnosuke and the Fortune Teller, but even further mixed him up with Ryunosuke (who even is that?!). Anyways, before I realized my grave mistake Oscar and the gang had already plunged into a haunted house adventure so I guess it's fine :) As a side note, I was curious about the "Indian Rope Trick" ever since the option was mentioned for the village entrance. So it was cool to finally see it in action, though it was simpler than I expected :D Now for the "new" chapter from last week! I'm not sure if Yummy Toes is taking a break this week or simply running late, but I'll take the chance to vote and discuss it nevertheless. It looks like the actual exploration isn't starting until next chapter, and we get to choose Oscar's buddy for now. ..Despite me listening to an awesome cirno remix right now, I think I'll go with Agappa this time :) Wriggle also seems like a logical option but something tells me Oscar needs a close and reliable friend for a time like this. After all, Agappa's been at his side practically since the beginning of this whole story! And who knows, her scavenging instincts might come in handy here What does everyone else think? Is it just me, or is Agappa basically Oscar's bestie now, and overall a really interesting character?

Nice work! Sounds like you stayed true to the original I'm not an expert so I may be wrong, but I think adding drums would make it sound more full. Especially at 1:05 where I think you could use a hi-hat or snare. But otherwise sounds good :)

Yup, very nice and relaxed chapter this time :) In fact I'm struggling to put into words the overwhelming bliss I felt, when I re-read it after I took a refreshing shower and got cozy; For a moment I even felt like I was Oscar -taking a bite of tempura after days of starvation- total paradise ...And I'm not exaggerating haha Anyways, I chose that option too. Going to a library and reading books sounds boooring, and visiting Reimu or exploring the forest again seems straight-up dangerous. I guess it would make more sense to visit a library and study the new grimoire and some japanese... but oh well, I wanted to choose an option that sounded more interesting. Also Mr.Mota, I believe Ossy won't be meeting Ryunosuke face-to-face. Re-reading the ending, it looks more like Mystia was suggesting searching his old shop. Or maybe I'm just misunderstanding you :) Also also, I'm left wondering how language works in this story. We know Oscar doesn't speak japanese, and I bet his friends didn't simply notice his red hair + green eyes and start speaking English for him haha... So the Gods automatically inserted the language into his brain like an isekai? But why can't he read?! What?!?!

Yep we also skipped last fall or winter if I remember correctly, I'm not surprised at this point haha

Yup, I think I'm finally starting to understand Oscar . Until now I've mostly been focusing on his brave and kind side, such as the numerous times he barely escaped the clutches of death, or the many friends he has made using his enchanting charisma. But as Motaromc and Nyoko pointed out, his real skill lies in putting on a fake smile and telling people what they want to hear. Which he really took advantage of last chapter. Same here, not only that but I even feel bad for Oscar himself :( Because can we really blame him for the lies? Deep inside I feel like Oscar would much rather resolve things with pure honesty and heart, but it's just too risky- he's constantly facing unimaginably powerful dangers around every corner of this mysterious world -and is forced to use his dirtiest tricks to get by. And even when he's not fending for his life (such as making money or telling people his former occupation), he's fooling people. Which I can't blame him for either. But these lies are starting to add up. Makes me feel bad because they're the only way for him to stay alive (as Nyoko said). And so I had an idea, maybe lies aren't the only way? if we can manage to force Yumetou into a corner, he'll HAVE to write his way out . For example "Marisa charges her master spark and points it straight at Agappa. What does Oscar say to defuse the situation?" -> "Walk in between the two and see what happens." Yes, we can choose the most awesome options and immortalize Oscar! ...okay, maybe not that crazy but I still got your back Motaromc! Oh, and look what happened. I was out of town so this is a bit late, but now I can annoyingly yell... I TOLD YOU SO!!!! Joking aside, I don't mind at all. Don't take the previous line seriously :) For this week's choices I thought this was really reasonable, it sounds mysterious but convincing enough to get Marisa off Oscar's back. And I don't think Sanae breaking the illusion will be much of a problem, as I expect it will happen far enough in the future, if at all. Alright, you've convinced me to switch answers.... wait, what's that? Sorry Nyoko, you'll probably hate this but I'll be choosing the more fun option with Motaromc this time :D

I agree. In general Yumetou has been doing a great job adding his own twists to Gensokyo, all while being careful not to confuse the reader. I think those little details go a long way to add life to the story :) Looks good I'm not sure what Oscar has bullets for, but I assume all of these items will eventually have some use, I hope. By the way did anyone else think the latest chapter felt pretty intense? I was fully expecting Marisa to lose her patience and go all out on Oscar, or steal what little earnings he made, thankfully neither of which happened... whew, close one. One small verbal mistake and I think he could've been blasted into ashes there. Or maybe I'm overreacting. I admit, I was the only one that chose "flee from Marisa" option last time haha. What does everyone say? Is it just me or was this only the beginning of the many dangers he will face in the village?

I'm the same as you :) Maybe a little longer I think it's nice that the community is accepting of newcomers, even if they don't play the games.

Hi Smaugu! I don't know much about the modern games' instruments, but I am aware of the PC-98 soundfont which is very easy to use. It should come up by searching up "touhou pc-98 soundfont." Once you download it, use the Soundfont Player in FL. I recommend practicing with it for some time, because you can focus on your melody without worrying much about audio mixing :) There is also a cool youtube series guide that teaches you how to make touhou music, and it teaches basics of music theory. You haven't posted your introduction but just from your two posts so far, I can tell you're a very thoughtful and smart fellow (at least I think so). Welcome back Nyoko. I was wondering where you had gone, looks like you wrote a lot! What are you talking about "rotten eggs"... you better watch what you're saying (just joking around hehe, not mad) Anyways about Eientei, I've checked it out and read through some of the threads. They all looked really fun! Just a bunch of guys having fun immersing themselves in their awesome worlds. I noticed such great atmosphere and variety, from a casual game of Go, to militaristic factions warring in a world without magic... how could it get any better?! But then, as you both mentioned, the forum is no longer active. Such a shame... if only I was there to have a taste of what it was like :,( I've even been considering starting my own thread to see what would happen. Whatever, this might be sudden, but time to look on the bright side :D I saw the new story you started Nyoko ;) Really interesting to start off with an interrogation, the intense intro got me hooked immediately. I can also see you took inspiration from Yumetou with the CYOA aspect. I chose the option to go the same way back, can't go wrong there :). One minor critique though Nyoko, I was a bit confused with the last paragraph. Had to re-read it a few times and I still wasn't sure if I understood who possessed who, who died, and who... almost died...?? Don't get me wrong, I think you did a good job, just that the last bit felt fast-paced for me. Hopefully the next chapter will explain more backstory and clarify what's going on. I'll stay tuned!

Welcome, KP! NEVER go around introducing yourself as stupid and saying "I don't know why I'm doing this." NEVER!! The more you downplay your confidence, the less composed you'll look to others. Cirno might have a reputation for being a good-for-nothing baka, but you know why everyone loves her anyways? It's because she always lets everyone know "EYE'M THE STRONGEST⑨⑨⑨!!!" :D Also don't worry about not playing the games. ...oops :P As I mentioned in my post above, it definitely wasn't something I expected. Maybe other people were also confused by it too. But oh well, it's nice that you have plans already :). I'm guessing Oscar will talk to Doremy soon and explain things (hopefully, because I totally did not understand that chapter!). Anyways, I have a question. Now that Oscar's in the human village, will he be safe from fighting and exploring for a while? That is, will the story mostly just be conversations for the next few chapters? Not that I would lose interest in that case, but I did find it cool at times when Oscar would apply tricks from his old world (flares, "music balls") to the problems he faced. So I'm a bit worried that the next few chapters would be like a "normal human villager simulator"... Of course! If working on another fanfiction won't burn you out, then I'll definitely take it :D I think I would be most interested in the fourth option, "A lost dreamer awakens in a world of fantasy." I have no idea what to expect from the description, so it was the most appealing. A mouth that doesn't speak, and eyes that can't see? What in the world are you possibly referring to? XD Also, you mentioned your revival of Eientei, but what's that about? I know that it's an rp channel on this website, but is that what you're referring to? I've never taken a good look at it so please elaborate if you don't mind :) Sorry, this is the first time I'm actually reading a (touhou) fanfiction, so I wouldn't know any good websites.
