Edit: I actually managed to find it. And to make things even more interesting, it is an entire long text thing about the game as a whole too. Let's give it a read: Between the music (some of which is near impossible to find these days due to the remixes used in LostWord being a few decades old.) and the Story Card artwork that's either "OH GOD GET IT OFF MY SCREEN!!!" or "... Huh, Neat." I fear Touhou LostWord may only have so long before it ends up being shut down. Especially since the concept could've been done so much better than what the JP devs gave us. The script for LostWord is just so bad... Like someone did a brief Google search on each character and their abilities but failed to actually play the games or read the Print Works and just when for one of those shoddily put together Fandom wikis instead. Sure there are funny moments in the script, but those are far and few in between dialog that makes me want to skip the "cutscene". The recent update for Interlude: Finale is my prime source of hatred at the moment however. It just pisses me off that the MC (who may I remind all of you is suppose to represent US in place of who we actually are and what we actually think in such a situation) would rather be with two complete strangers who she's barely known for a full day, rather than staying with folks she's known for probably a few months. Logic 100 right there. We don't even get to choose our fate, the MC just stands there and assists P2 Reimu rather than doing the logical thing (which is ironic that I say that) and rush over to Reimu, Sanae and Marisa's side for safety or one of the three just grabs the MC and all four book it to somewhere else in Gensokyo. Glad to know the MC is still a cock-sucking dumbass if someone treats her nice. Seriously, Gensokyo was in high alert for something that didn't exist and was having staged events happen, SO WHERE THE FUCK WAS YUKARI, RAN OR CHEN DURING THE WHOLE ORDEAL!? I get the whole point of Interlude was to have the MC introduced to everyone else we've seen through the various events that have been released, but there could've been a simpler, less rushed way other than having P2 Reimu pop into the L1 Gensokyo and pretending to be L1 Reimu and having the group go on a wild goose chase to figure out something that was staged to catch P2 Reimu and that freaky, unhinged version of Sanae. Oh, and speaking of Yukari. PCB Yukari isn't actually from PCB, but rather IN due to the color palette matching up with her palette in IN which is only seen when she uses her Last Word in that game. Sure I get they wanted some way to distinguish the two from each other and the artwork in IN is technically from PCB but at a higher resolution with an alternate color palette, but I feel it would've been easier to base the artwork fully off of PCB rather than using an entirely different game as the source. [from a different comment - Wait, what happened in the Finale?] Basically, and spoilers by the way, MC decides that being with P2 Reimu and FUBAR Sanae (who poorly disguised herself and also never stops being a freak like what we saw at the end of Interlude: Act 1) is better than the folks who have been helping her and guiding her through Gensokyo safely might I add. Also whoever has writing the story for Interlude: Finale really wanted the MC to know the characters she's seen in other worlds by rapid firing through nearly everyone in Gensokyo haphazardly. Couldn't wait for a proper moment or just have casual interludes of each chapter that have either no fights or very few fights. First two chapters were pretty good with decent writing, but then everything went downhill after Hifuu and Chapter 3 with plot points that put Neptunia Victory to shame with how forgettable they are. Beat me by 10 minutes. I should have come earlier (yesterday) with the roundup, but I only got back home at like 1:30 AM (1 hour has passes since). Anyway, news roundup: News and updates Just like sodaodaoda noted, there is a new EFES coming on JP. Buckle up, because this time it will be... Expect one more EFES unit of this kind, because why not have 1 redhead Hecatia and 2 alts. Since I do not want to get so angry at this hour, or better said show my great disappointment, I will instead quote a few relevant comments on the topic: "Since C3 hag CQ is dropping with her, and L1 Reimu dropped with the hag, I'm gonna assume this is the new precedent, monthly Efes units along with CQ content tailored to them and exclusively them. Hecc is a debuff unit, so watch this have like multiple gauges with no barriers and you need her debuffs to brute force it or something. Either way, not looking forward to this coming to global next week, since we have a dev letter coincidentally the day this drops on JP." "The only good thing about LostWord at this point is it’s grinding feature, and imo, the recent release of the newest chapter, which is actually entertaining and attentive, other than that, LostWord is falling into your stereotypical gacha game that makes you P2W at this point. Shitty development is sending it down that path since global is trying way too hard to catch up with Japans release, character wise at least. We haven’t received a new reg or festival unit since Chapter 2 Act 2, all that’s been hitting is UFES and EFES. Yes it’s cool to see this Hecatia, but the amount of EFES releases are getting boring, GoodSmile and co. should treat UFES and EFES like limited 5 star units, in my opinion" Well, that's thoroughly disappointing, but not unexpected. At least maybe the moon one will be UFES so she covers three different banner types lol jk she's going to be an EFES, and so will everyone else from this chapter. Place your bets, how many weeks until she gets added for us? I say two. For the time being (albeit a short one), Global is safe, because her JP release day coincides with the next Dev Letter for Global. But don't be amazed if the video will also announce a release of the character shortly after JP... And now for something, completely different... JP is getting a new set of costumes. This time, those costumes are for Shou, Nazrin and Nue. To me, it is not clear yet what event are they related to. Perhaps Detective Marisa part 2? Since many events seem to be getting a rehash/part after a while (the current Grand Prix event, which was supposed to come much later, is part 2 of Hina's Cheering Saga) Suwako and Yuyuko are getting their own Fantasy Rebirth Community discussion and memes Since I recently finished Interlude Finale, I had a series of questions. First of all, why did we get the story through which we end up meeting the guys in Gensokyo only AFTER 3 Chapters of hopping around alternate worlds? Basically, this is the timeline based on what I could gather until now: Prologue: MC gets to Gensokyo, meets the protagonists and the more famous characters of Touhou 6, 7 and 8 Chapters 1-3: hopping around alternate worlds Interlude: MC finally gets to meet the rest of the inhabitants of Gensokyo in a rather rushed sequence. Events: all I can say is that every event seems to be taking place a long time after the campaign is over, as MC is already familiar to all inhabitants of L1 Gensokyo. Hifuu: only god knows when is that taking place, or if MC from that story is the same one as in the main campaign. My question now is, could we not have the story of Interlude (without the Blue Reimu and McDonald's Sanae shenanigans) just after the Prologue, therefore a nice occasion for both MC and many people who got into Touhou LW yet had no idea what Touhou is, to learn about the characters they will meet along the story? Secondly, the whole finale of that chapter was weird. As far as we know, it seems to have been a few days at most since MC landed in Gensokyo. In all this time, she shared her time between staying at the Hakurei Shrine with Reimu and getting sucked into alternate worlds. However, when the time comes to choose, she decides to leave L1 Gensokyo with Blue Reimu and McDonald's Sanae despite barely having met the former during Chapter 3 an the latter being a completely new figure to her. Why did she even accept to leave in the first place, therefore abandoning the people she was already familiar to? Again, I have not started Chapter 4 yet, therefore I might be missing critical information. Besides, how did she even get back to the original Gensokyo in the first place to be part of all the events? There was an interesting discussion on the topic, which sparked from the "Best Friend" line Parsee has: (image taken from this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/touhou_lostword/comments/wztat9/well_thenparsee_touched_upon_my_head_cannon_i/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) Along with the image, a few good comments also came up. Here is what caught my attention: Well, think of yourself as Lossy. She woke up without any memories one day and in the same day she got thrown into another world where instead of of doing something tangible and nothing but being a key to journal and later on thrown into another world where once again she wasn't much of a help and had to be carried (I tell you, having people carry you while you do nothing weights a lot in mind) and after that into another world where fighting was rampant. After every fight or flight encounter and being the one who needed to be protected, and even after all three different world "adventures" she still got hugged and patted by many Gensokyo residents and almost drowning (it throws the mind into disarray) and seeing sages of Gensokyo coming to her. She is a child, this much happening in such a short time can throw someone into some extreme emotions. Kindness is a virtue but if you feel undeserving of it, it can become a punishment instead. I mean, when you're pretty much being the key to a journal, it does weigh a lot. She is like Gordon Freeman, experienced so much in such a short amount of time. I was thinking again and I realize this would explain why she sided with Blue Reimu against her friends in the end of the interlude. It wasn't just to advance the plot. Blue Reimu managed to convince her she's useful to them and, given her implied low self-esteem, Lossy would do anything to make herself useful. In a world where everyone is special, the only thing that makes her special is not even hers in first place, so she will jump at the opportunity to be useful, even if it's an antagonist. That's an actual flaw of her - Blue Reimu was arrogant, but not malicious, but imagine if a more intelligent and malicious antagonist appeared and would try to feed her with doubt ("Look at them, they don't need you", "This place has existed without you and will continue to", "The moment they find another way to solve the incident, you'll be discarded"), and that would make Lossy work according to this antagonist's intent. Of course, if it happens, it's likely it won't end well the moment this antagonist is discovered. Yukari was willing to put Blue Reimu in a world of pain if she had hurt Lossy. Reimu would probably just straight murder them if nobody holds her back. And given the tone of the writing so far, I don't think the writers will do that, but at one point Lossy will have to face her flaw. Meanwhile, I am looking for another thread that was a criticism towards the writing of Interlude Finale, particularly MC's decision to leave L1 Gensokyo abut it seems like I cannot find it. I will come back on the topic once I find it again. Another interesting situation, albeit from an older thread, is the following: Information is coming from the following thread https://www.reddit.com/r/touhou_lostword/comments/wqc4y8/did_anyone_compile_a_list_of_canon_information/ Last but not least, this expression made people discuss a bit about what it could be interpreted as: Together with a different reupload of this image on r/touhou, it led to a weirdly hilarious situation, as exemplified below: The upload related to r/touhu_lostword however is the following Also rando thought at the end. If we are to ever get PC-98 characters, I am afraid they might be coming as EFES units. Imagine wanting Mima, Shinki or the PC-98 version of Yuuka, and having to deal with the EFES bullshit. From now on, we are in FES hell, as everything will be an EFES in terms of main story new characters.

Oh, do not worry. this is absolutely welcome. It is actually nice when I get to see someone else rambling, and it is not just me writing walls of text. This the same for everyone else too. Write as much as you wish, and do not shy away from long texts or rambling. I tend to do that all the time. Also congrats for getting Alice. P.S: due to the way pages work, the roundup ended up coming on the previous page, which it uncomfortable if anyone wants to comment on that and stay up to date with the discussions over here on the next page.

Alright, it is time again for the news roundup: News and updates We have an entire chart when it comes to new content. All of it will be available starting with the 26th of August following maintenance From what we can see, PCB Ran is making her debut on Global, in a banner composed of her and PCB Yukari. Other things coming are the UFES banner, Fantasy Rebirth for the Watatsuki sisters and Event part 2 (aka we are getting the rest of the stages - did they rush the event again and did not manage to translate the second half that we got almost an entire week of break from new stages?). Everything mentioned will be detailed below soon enough. There is an interesting step-up banner for B3 universe characters that will happen. Apparently, with 2700 God Cubes, you are guaranteed to get at least one of those characters presented. Personally, I will just keep my cubes as I already have Toyohime, and am not very interested in any of the other ones (despite loli Junko being stupidly powerful) PCB Ran is also making her debut on Global this week. Like I said earlier, she is coming in a banner together with Yukari. So if you missed the chance to get A7 Yukari when she was coming together with Alice, now it is your time. I already have Yukari at MLB, and am not sure I want another copy of her until finally getting Ran. But she looks cute (like any character design in this game), and might be an interesting unit. Some of you will like it. Meanwhile, JP is getting their own retro unit. Like Isaac pointed out a couple days ago, it is the SA (or I guess A11) version of Satori Komeiji. We already knew about retro Koishi from Tower cutscenes, and I wonder who will be the next member of the SA cast to get a retro version. If we ever get a retro Okuu and Orin, then I am in for that. Community discussion and memes It seems like Chapter 4 has already sparked a lot of discussion. Main issues everyone mentions are the sudden difficulty spike compared to any other previous main story, introduction of EX stage mechanics into the main story (multiple HP bars, binds, stronger abilities on the enemy units), which raised the doubt (AGAIN) whether the new content is made specifically for the newly released units, or we can still do anything with the old friends we have. There is also a funny thing about the stages and their difficulty. Chapter 4 represents the first time "Suggested lvl" for units has gone over 100, showing numbers like lvl 103 or lvl 104. How is this possible, especially when the maximum level of a friend does not go above 100? Well, there is a technicality. Apparently, Fantasy Rebirth adds 40 levels to a character, therefore when they reach level 100, their actual level would be 140. Does this mean you are recommended to clear that stage only with Fantasy Rebirth units? I don't know, maybe. Or just get Summer Yukari and Blue Reimu and nothing of this will matter anyway. Since we are still in the area of Chapter 4, people have been wondering whether the new characters will appear as banners at one point. Their main point of concern if however that they will be Epic Festival units instead of the classic UFES. Until now, the two people have been talkin about are Chapter 4's version of Marisa and Hecatia. Moving on slowly to a different topic, there is the problem of Reimu EX. Apparently, there is not so much faith a lot of people managed to complete it. To be fair, I have mixed opinions about it. It is another EX stage, this time made to be easy if you have Summer Yukari. Besides, the story card you can get out of it (and for which you have to grind a lot) is also a Summer Yukari specific card, which besides boosting her Last Word, I do not know if it has any other practical use. And like I always say about EX stages: you either need FES/UFES units specially made for that stage, or normal units, but for which you have to grind too much in order to get a MLB copy of the card (and that card does not make the result you are looking for if it is not MLB). The fans' discussion about MC is still going on. This time, it is no longer about her age. Instead, an interesting theory arose in regards to who she might be. I will let you read the rest + the ensuing discussing down below: And also on characters, people are still looking for the general units Global still has not received. Since Parsee was brought into the game last week, the focus seems to have shifted towards Soga no Tojiko. Do not worry, I will get started a similar discussion about Raiko as well, just to have threads about the general units everyone wants to be in the game already, were supposed to come long ago, yet have not appeared yet. (like I said last time, I really like the way Raiko has been characterized in the latest event, giving her a wholesome aura - actually very close to her Touhou canon version - welcome to me Raiko simping TED Talk) ...I mean this is the actual discussion. Where was I? Ah, yes, people wanting Tojiko in the game. Like somebody pointed out in the comments, we are in a lack of General units, and their release schedule has been messed up immensely: "She (Tojiko)'s been on JP for over a year, released back in July 2021. Currently we're missing 11 gen units now that Parsee is out, and most of the remaining gen units are tied to events. Events roll around on a 2-3 week basis, and every other event has been a rerun thus far, so you're waiting around a month for a new event with possibly a new character. On top of that, global doesn't follow the event order from JP at all, the event that just brought Parsee and her costume is event 22 and the oldest event from JP we don't have is event 14, which would bring Raiko (Also over a year old June 2021) to the game finally. Oh and for reference, Tojiko is in event 15, the second oldest. So basically every month or so, we roll the dice on which event gets rolled and the related gen unit that gets to come out with it." (credit for this comment goes to u/Kdog8273) Last and not least, I have asked a question in regards to how has this game managed to survive for so long. To be fair, I am not very sure myself. Especially given the relatively low production level and budged compared to the other Touhou games that dies out. It seems though that this one, despite feeling lackluster, actually managed to gain enough money in order to survive not only 2 years, but also expand to global level, while both Cannonball and DanKagu died in their JP phase (despite being games highly regarded by the player base, especially in the case of DanKagu, which really seemed to have had a lot of love put into it by creators). Anyway, an interesting thing I have found thanks to Discord is a (unofficial) chart about the financial gains of the game since the beginning of the year. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-GeOwwWrqTREmwB-wEmcnVB01uOA1nOWh9c4sVpBP2M/edit#gid=0

Honestly, now I really wanna go in a corner and cry again. Why? I have watched again images from Cannonball and DanKagu. Just look at these beautiful animations, which, even if they are just Live2D models, they are so much more cute and lively than the PowerPoint presentation that is LostWord Picked two Yuyuko examples just because I got them by chance one next to the other (and because she is adorable in both). Top one is from Cannonball, bottom from DanKagu (I did not know that game had a story mode)

Before Chapter 4 drops in a few hours, I will leave here a theory someone came up with about what this whole might be about (unless anyone playing JP and might already know what it is about): The text comes from this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/touhou_lostword/comments/wrwgdt/chapter_4_theory/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

Indeed, so it seems like Anti-Misfortune Grand Prix is going to be the following event. On that note, time to being another news roundup covering the recent situation. in case anyone is interested, here is further reading on the update: News and updates With the maintenance of August 19th, quite a few things are gonna get brought in: Like sodaodaoda said, MV Alice is indeed coming. Together with the banner, there will also be a special stage for her, on the model of MV Remilia's. Anti-Misfortune Grand Prix is going to be the following event. It seems we skipped 6 events. On one hand, Raiko got shafted again, but on the other, Parsee is in. Apparently, we have also skipped a Tokijo-related event. Hopefully the hype with Parsee is a wake up call that we want more L1 units (which seems to be the thing, as at the time of writing this comment, the Parsee release thread has 20 replies, while MV Alice's only reached 3). Anyway, more general pool units please. It looks like Parsee will be part of a greater banner, at least according to this image. Overall, information about the role and abilities of Parsee (curtesy to the LW subreddit): Yeah, I guess this is also coming. I still have not finished Interlude, so it's not fully relevant. Just please someone update me on the avalanche of alts that seemed to be coming with this (if they are indeed there)... So...this will be a 1 time 10 prayers? Well, free prayers are still free, so... yay? Just as the current x3 rewards campaign is about to end, another one will begin. And I am still not seeing the better drop rate for story cards I might need like WoSD and Puppeteer and Necromancer.

Coming back to this though a plus to another Iganashi1 art (seriously, I absolutely love the way that artist depicts lady Eiki). All my respect for someone drawing such a gorgeous looing Yama. I feel tempted to post all of his art, but I have to limit myself to just a few. I think we recently got a rerun on the Hina Cheering Saga event. As for what is to come next, we can only wait to see what follows the Easter event rerun (points collection available until the 19th and event shop available until the 26th). From what I noticed, the game patter seems to be new event / rerun / new event and so on. As for the news roundup, a bit of a follow-up: News and updates Scarlet Devil Tower JP just presented their new batch of characters. This time, we are completing the Unconnected Marketeers cast by adding Tenkyuu, Momoyo and Tsukasa. Is is just me, or Tenkyuu's face looks slightly weird in this angle? Now, with the exception of Mizuchi, Yuuma and Miyoi, LostWord has added the entire Touhou cast starting with EoSD. Besides that, LW developers do not seem to be tired of adding even more new EoSD alts. Seriously, haven't we got enough Remilia and Flandre recently? I don't even know if their EoSD retros have been released yet, despite featuring in the Tower. Community discussion and memes Since many people complained about Remu EX, tutorials started to pop up in regards to how to beat that stage and what team comps to come up with. Usually, these stages require you either units you may not have yet. Or if you have the units, you may not have played enough to give them the MLB cards needed ("what, you do not have 24 MLB copies of Witch of Scarlet Dreams/Puppeteer and Necromancer/Mysterious Sword Master/etc? Shame") Let's not forget that, at least according to some, this entire EX stage was made specifically for being trivialized if you had C3 Yukari. A lot of these EX stages feel like they were made specifically for one character or another, and that you will struggle if using anything else. Nice strategy to sell a product. Sell a powercreep unit, then balance the upcoming content based on that unit(s). Main story is (still) trivial if you have that strong units, the real challenge of LW becoming these endgame content style challenges.

Alright, time for an actual reply. First of all, thank you for actually coming back into this, even so many months after the original post. I guess it is more about being a fan of this series feeling out of place when you are the only one in a large crowd knowing about the existence of the series. I thought people heavily disliked Jojo fans for being annoying. But yes, our community seems to be very dedicated to the franchise, and will always be able to create something new or introduce us into anything. I mean Touhou was referenced even on Cartoon Network, despite not directly/through a parody. But I thought Touhou also counts into the category of "weeb content", and we all know how much people hate weebs and weaboos. I used to not be very interested in the issue in the past. I was actually asked by my school colleagues why I took no interest in a relation, and could not explain it. It just felt like I was not interested, and tried instead focusing on other stuff. Now, I think it might start biting me in the butt. I used to prefer solitude for a long while, but then 2020 and lockdown happened. After 2 months stuck inside my home, I realized I need to see people, and when we could finally go out, I tried hanging out with my best friend as much as I could. Fascinating, I heard the same thing a while ago from an acquaintance. I would write a lot about this, but I have explained in full detail how I got into the series as part of my first thread on this forum Indeed, it is full of degeneracy. It becomes problematic though if the things from the internet are not only kept there, but also come into real life. Like if your "internet life" actually affected your real life and how people see you irl just through the lens of online posting. Maybe I have not missed so much. It is annoying though people make it as if I did though, especially when you have not gone through the "standard" stages of your life up to an age. Like if you are still very delayed with a lot of issues, or do not feel emotionally ready for them. Your logic says something, but your mind and instincts start beating you up with exactly the opposite. I have not felt the pressure of being alone until now, but recently it started becoming ever so pressing. And not really in the way of "I have to do it", but more like "I am feeling alone, I really need someone next to me". Yes, I have been feeling alone this entire last year, especially since I lost an entire first college year and interactions through long distance online courses. What also scares me a bit is that every traits I may be looking for to find on a girl, I have found exactly on my best friend, who is a guy. He is smart, has a personality (although having a personality is something arbitrary to define), we both like the same things (especially a strong liking for Touhou and history), and he is also the kind of person who I would stay talk to all day long and can listen to all my rambling for hours without getting annoyed. I guess finding someone like this, but as a girl, could be very hard, if not impossible to find if I not looking hard enough. Finally, my entire sentiment of feeling alone eventually went into what I am drawing, which can also explain why I am constantly frustrated and not satisfied with what I do (and perhaps one of the reasons how I ended up into Touhou, despite never having taken an active interest in anime/anime style art and bullet hell games). As much as I love designing tanks, there's still the feeling, almost self-pushed for drawing girls too. I was never too interested in that before 2020, but I started to feel it like a need for completing a void I have. Even designing my OC feels more like a coping mechanism, as one of my original thoughts back then was to design basically "the girl of my dreams". Which, as cheesy as it may sound, might just be a reflection of feeling lonely and become a more and more easy pray for waifu/cute girl bait stuff from media. Hell, maybe that was one of the reasons I actually got stuck into Touhou for so long and still feel fiercely loyal to it despite never having played the games (when in the very same fateful 2020 I switched through multiple fandom before landing into that one). Until recently, I have been in denial about a lot of stuff, but irl friends really helped me start realize some of the stuff and I've begun speaking more freely and honestly about it.

What do you think about Akatsuki Records?
CountVonNumenor replied to CountVonNumenor's topic in Music
Might be weird, but the wiki has not updated yet the page for the music group. Therefore, i cannot check yet whether the new songs are part of something bigger or not (even if they most likely are). -
Remind me to come back eventually with an elaborate answer for Cardinal. He made a lot of good points

Why are Touhou fans seemingly so thirsty?
CountVonNumenor replied to CountVonNumenor's topic in Misty Lake
This info coming from the comments of the big Reddit thread might flip some of the data we were aware of It is interesting to see that despite its reputation, Touhou apparently does not have so much content of the kind within its own tag, while other series go close to 50% of their fan-made cotent be NSFW. Also, please let's get things straight, once and for all. I am not condemning the creation of any sort of R18 materials, since I am perfectly fine with some of them. My only thing is about people when they start acting like immature monkeys around mature stuff. Like all those people who act as if they never saw a woman in their lives. Or those who believe bland, generic, cookie-cutter video formats (there literally is a format to which you only need to insert the photos you want and voila, the video is done) with cropped Touhou hentai represent peak Touhou content. I will probably not comment on POV/wish-fulfilment images like the kind Fusu creates (I really is his safe for work art, as he has not drawn anything safe since November last year). I am not familiar enough with that format, and also do not really want to anger anyone if my take on it is bad. Instead, I will link two discussions I have seen recently on both the annoying YouTube videos and wish-fulfilment art. From here, it is up to you to decide. "No anon, your waifu doesn't love you or as you go out with her, or go into any sort of romantic confession to a complete foreigner. No anon, your waifu will not allow or want you touch her in inappropriate places. No anon, your waifu will not beg you have sex with her" I think this ending paragraph sums up what I feel about the general horniness of Internet users rather well to be honest. -
Alright, with everything in mind and some small updated, time to bring again the news roundup. News and updates LostWord JP has announced their next UFES unit. This time, it will be Hifuu version Patchouli. Just like the simulation, expect her to arrive on Global in a matter of weeks at most. "That just leaves Butler Koakuma for the E universe. Hopefully most of the Chapter 4 characters are SFes and not EFes. I’m definitely sure Moon Seiran and Ringo are SFes. Mage Patchouli is most likely an Attack type unit." (u/WWWWWWRRRRRYYYYY, usual announcer on r/touhou_lostword whenever something new is announced) Meanwhile, LW Global received the Ten Desires/Touhou 13 retro version of Toyosatomimi no Miko. We also got Interlude Finale (which I still have not played yet), and are expected to get the first act of Chapter 4 the coming week. Community discussions and memes This time, I also made a contribution to the discussions of the community, in the form of a thread. Given the weird patter Global has moved on in terms of releases and event schedule, I wanted to see how much we are behind JP and what we have skipped in order to rush a number of characters at the price of translating story and card. If we are looking at the following schedule, things are interesting. If "(Anniversary)" does indeed refer to 1 Year Anniversary, then it means we might be getting some of these events like Horismriver's March or Summer Horrors soon. However, people are concerned after this point, a lot of the listed events are becoming either a follow-up to what we got in the first year, or are basically rehashes (like how they were talking about the Okuu and Orin maid outfits being like the third maid at the SDM event we got). We are also in the weird situation of having released costumes on Global that do not have yet the character for them, stories without character banners (still looking at you, Interlude, and no Sumireko despite her being the oldest General unit we did not get yet) or just outfits shoved in without their specific event coming out yet. But more on that a bit later. Somebody proposed a PvE mode for LostWord. I am not sure about how viable it sounds, but there have been some opinions on how would you make that work. After all, this is a single player game, but which for some reason still needs internet connection to work. Everybody is confused about the age of MC, especially now after Interlude. To be fair, the game made it slightly more complicated because in Hifuu you have MC being someone giving all the signs of being in college, while in the main story, she is of very ambiguous age. In the main story, everyone treats her like a child, and then there is also the enigmatic figure which appeared in Alice's Fantasy Rebirth portrait (theorized by some to be the main character). Discussion ensued: The discussion about LostWord made its way from the general gacha subreddit to r/touhou_lostword. More interesting comments from this side as well. @Isaac you might find this one interesting. It is a discussion about Parsee and people waiting for her to get to Global. For me, it is interesting because people raised some good points in regards to the absence of a large amount of General units as well: The first one: And there is one more interesting comment, from the same u/WWWWWWRRRRRYYYYY Yeah, there is still quite a bit we are waiting for, not gonna lie...

Holy shit that's quite an extreme, isn't it? Well, I guess such people exist as well. Honestly. I still don't know why Global was so desperate to rush its content and try to get up to date with JP (besides money of course). It's not like the original server was 1 year ahead in terms of content or something. Everyone says that the bad for GLB started in November, when EoSD Reimu came out followed by 6 back-to-back UFES characters (the Lunar War versions of the protagonists). And from there on, the almost desperate need of Global in trying to stay up to date with the latest recolored powercreep unit JP released just days before. Before, the biggest controversy people saw was when Suika (the first character that ever got the S+ tier) and Scarlet Marisa came back to back, or when the Mysterious Sword Master banner was received a a scam due to what units came quickly afterwards. Which brings me back to the old tier list from June year I presented in previous thread page. Anyway, in this rush, we skipped a lot (at least 10) general pool units, and a few regular FES ones. I will come back a bit later once I find a bit more info. I've read some interesting stuff yesterday, and I want to see if I can find it again and place here.

Due to the lack of major updates and discussions going on around Lost Word, the news roundup will have difficulties in updating content. Instead, they will focus from now on bringing in a number of interesting threads going around the community. At least until news will be more reach (just give it a week, Chapter 4 might be fuel for something...). So, to put it like this: News and updates Interlude Final is finally here. I have not played it yet, but I also see there is little talk about it. However, there is one opinion (and the only opinion/review) I have found about what is going on (spoiler for anyone who has not played it yet). It seems like not everything is perfect. I might have to personally check and see what is going on. Community discussions and memes There is just one thread which caught my attention. I was not posted on r/touhou_lostword, but on the general gacha community. Well, if we think Global has it rough, apparently it is worse on JP. Not that it is much better here, even if apparently the admins for Global are doing their best to soften the impact when some JP shenanigan is sent to the rest of the world. Some people even ended up praising the admin team of Global, or how GLB is so much more generous than JP, but I see there are also counter-opinions, with some actually worth reading arguments: I am personally still not feeling much better about the game. My only achievement recently would be getting the Fantasy Rebirth outfit for Akyuu, but now I wonder if that is really a redeeming factor for the game. I am still feeling drained, and as if all the flavor of the game is gone. I am not feeling interested in the news UFES units. I am not feeling interested in the RFES units either. I am (at least) slightly weary about what will Chapter 4 be. There is little new content which really makes me excited. I really need something that would bring me back to enjoying it the way I used to last year. When everything was much simpler and easier to enjoy... The two threads I have referenced though this little comment:

Not too much happened this week. I might update it after the maintenance on 12th August. Until that, we have the news on said update and what will come with it: I also found this list, which is raising me a few questions (spoiler for JP content - Well, I can't use the spoiler feature on phone, which is weird) These seem to be events following up one of the anniversaries (not sure if after the first or second anniversary of the JP server). In this, I was quite curious to see where Global is, and how much we may have messed up the order of event stories. I wrote a separate thread on the subreddit in order to ask for more details.

Having a little laugh, I think this video sums up very well the LostWord experience following the latest update (warning - loud in the second half; video also warns it): https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/904458790370414652/1006299824909451294/redditsave.com_low_quality_shitpost_regarding_the_latest_update-gnqy145tcig91_1.mp4 (and of course, video refuses to embed...) What do you think about Akatsuki Records?
CountVonNumenor replied to CountVonNumenor's topic in Music
I might not be famiar with Sariel's themes, but it looks like the song credits Civilization of Magic as the source in the description.
