I'm curious about this RP thing and wanted to try it but I feel like I don't know much about the characters yet since i've only made it to Touhou 8 so far. But I'll be down with anything you guys can agree on given I'm actually able to do it

Gameplay is just up my alley and I love seeing what the community cooks. Was never a bullet hell guy but I like games that tests my skills and knowledge and see my improvement over time. But beyond gameplay I like seeing passionate people use their skills and talents to show their love for something by making creative works or creating discussions. This community just have so much years worth of lore that I can't help but be intrigued

Oh damn I already threw away my tv a long time ago and I only ever watched tv shows that are from my country (Philippines). But if I do stay at someone's place that has a tv I'd watch this sitcom called Pepito Manaloto while we all eat dinner, but by far my favorite is this show called iBilib where they show of science experiments and other cool sciency stuffs and one of the hosts (or some, I cant remember) does cosplay and an image I've seen floating around is them doing an Aya cosplay while handing a pizza over the the camera. I look like an absolute nerd pointing at the tv and saying "hey i know that character! shes from this game/anime!" everytime I recognize who shes cosplaying as.

This video unlocked a memory back in 6th grade when my hair was kinda long for a boy (like a sorry excuse of a bob cut) and this girl tied one side to make it look like one of those pony-tails but on the side that I only ever see in animes. When I looked over to the other boys they pointed and laughed but those girls insisted I looked cute. Were they fucking with me? I was already the socially awkward quiet kid who couldn't pick up on social cues so it's still a mystery to me to this day. Regardless, I kept it the whole day til the tiny rubber band thingy holding my hair finally snapped. I still yearn for that one day I get to feel cute despite looking ridiculous. I've always wanted to grow my hair but schools and relatives always gets me to mow it down before I start looking like a hobo. But now that I'm done with high school I finally got a chance to turn into Diavolo! I've also got that old asian sage that probably kicks ass in martial arts tournament beard layout so I've wanted to grow them to do the full hermit-that-dispenses-life-changing-wisdom loadout but they haven't moved an inch since high school so I guess I gotta mow that and just go straight for the strawberry-haired mafia boss style. Anyways I'm supposed to add to this thread but everyone already knows the people I watch so here's one my favorite from Leon Massey whom I discovered for his mostly fighting game essays. This one really got me realizing how much games is built around combat and how we even got here. I played the old point and click Fallout 1 and 2 and I think those games were awesome and later played Disco Elysium thinking I'd enjoy it since I've enjoyed point and click adventures with RPG elements before but the lack of combat really made it feel very slow and I just couldn't get past the first 2 hours. I'd really like to try other games where combat (or anything where life is at stake) is not the main focus and its just you interacting with the game's silly mechanics but I find it hard to focus without someone dangling keys in front of me.

I've thought about why the two communities overlap so much, like tf2 could be in cahoots with really anything niche or popular but the one that is always a constant is touhou. I like to think that what Touhou is the east as TF2 is to the west, though each is not exclusive to only their region. Both got popular in the same decade and got lots of diehard fans thanks to the memorable characters and solid gameplay which made them timeless (atleast thats what I think as a fan of both games). Also an encounter I once had in tf2 was a guy holding a conscientious objector with a picture of Reimu with the caption "YOUKAI RACIST BOTTOM TEXT" chasing a guy with a profile picture and name of another touhou character (i cant remember who) and he would kill bind everytime youkai racist catches up to him and that is one of the funniest random event i've ever had. I'll continue to be posting whatever touhou art I decide to make on a whim at Akyuu's Studio (hey maybe i can be a regular there!). As for that artist I mention their name is massakasama (@ma_sakasama), I really like how they simplify stuffs like anatomy into just their simplest of shapes and still make it look cool. They only post some of their art on twitter but you can find most of them at danbooru tho there maybe some nsfw stuffs.

It really felt like I found an old treasure trove of goodies with this series cuz man the fandom existed before i was even a primordial soup and its still ongoing, it's like being a witness to momentous part of history. I'll be sticking around to see how the series progresses and what the fans are going to cook in the meantime. And very much thanks for the warm welcome!

So a like 2 months ago i saw a video of tf2 heavy singing Help Me Medic which was a parody (or whatever you call it) of the Help Me Erin song which I saw many many years ago. So because of this I decided to listen to it again and lo and behold they made a new version which a cool new animation and it made me want to get into Touhou. At this point I only knew some of the really popular songs and played the old PC-98 games and thought they sucked major ass a very long time ago. For the past months I've just been delving deeper and deeper in this rabbit hole of a series man it just doesn't run out of interesting tales to tell about its community and games. Another thing to come out of me getting in the series is that there is this one artist that I really like and I copy how he draws certain things when I don't know what I'm doing. Now I just started realizing that he draws 95% Touhou and 5% anything else. It's nice looking at my gallery of a bunch of random anime characters and finally knowing their names. now this is getting way too long for an introduction anyways hi I'm Idioms I like drawing, fighting games, gacha games, and computers nice to meet you folks!
