  1. Wait, really? I'll have to try that out!
  2. Which one do you think I should choose? xD
  3. Really great idea to have a flash thread considering the enormous amount of Touhou flash animations and games. By the way, the Cirno game was fun and I managed to get 4130 points on my first try. Here's some of my favourite SWFs on my PC. I refrained from putting very well known ones like "Neko Miko Reimu", "Cirno's Perfect Math Class" etc since everyone here knows about them. endlessHomeWork_1857.swfReimu_rope_skipyuyuko_spin.swf.swf
  4. I recently saw a Touhou iceberg that claimed "Touhou 20 will be the last game". Of course, the chance that this is actually true is very unlikely but it got me thinking: For how long with we be getting new official content? First, let's get this out of the way. I strongly believe that even if Zun stops making games, music and manga, the community can continue to supply new content indefinitely. From games and manga to original characters and stories, I think that this community can create anything to keep itself going. But let's get back to the original question. If I remember correctly, Zun has stated in an interview that he's going to work on Touhou for as long as he feels like, which is good. I'd say that Touhou still has a lot of potential to evolve even more and further explore the lore of already existing characters while introduting new ones. But let's say you had to guess for how long will we be getting new official content from Zun, what would your answer be? I personally think that it's going to be for around 8 to 10 years, but that's just a speculation based on nothing but random thoughts I've had. Now let's talk about the official content itself. New games are releasing just fine, thought Touhou 19 sparked a lot of controversy as you might know. A new chapter of Foul Detective Satori is being released every month, same with Lotus Eaters. The only complaint I have is that we haven't gotten a new "proper" CD in over 7 years since the latest one only has 3 tracks, but I don't mind it that much. So, for how long do you think we're going to be getting new content? How do you think the Touhou Project is changing and how much do think these changes are going to affect its longevity?
  5. Try exposing them to the music first, if they like it they might get interested in the games as well. Send them songs or do it sneakily by making touhou songs your ringtone for a while. You can also try telling them about the world of Gensoukyou and the lore behind it. Lastly, recommend fangames similar to games they already play, this could help ease the transition. I think this is going to help alot.
  6. Welcome aboad! The easiest games to start with are 7 (Perfect Cherry Blossom), 8 (Imperishable Night) and 10 (Mountain of Faith). I'd recommend trying 7 and 8 and continue with the one you feel most comfortable with. Don't worry about dying often since it's very natural if you haven't played other danmaku games before, focus on improving your skills. Btw, with which game did you start out?
  7. I just had this random thought. I was watching the PV of Alice→Dere and when the part where there was Alice alone on a cemetery, most likely because she outlived Marisa, appeared. That's when I thought "what if Marisa became a youkai as well?". And after that I had another question: How does a human become a youkai? The wiki only mentions that "in some cases even a normal human can become a youkai under the right conditions" but Alice probably knows a method because she was a human herself in the past.
  8. As a Geometry Dash player I can't believe how I didn't get around listening to Meganeko's music earlier. Such bangers like:
  9. I thought I was the only one feeling like that. The new art feels very "plastic-y" compared to IN-PoFV-MoF. The only reason I can think of is kinda dumb. I think that newer players who don't know what Touhou was like some years ago (and I say this as someone who started playing EoSD January last year). Also half of the reviews can be summarized by these screenshots:
  10. For me it was very meh. The only improvements from PoFV is the fact that you don't have to spam the Z button and character select menu is prettier. I generally think that ZUN is unfortunately beyond his prime. The game feels very "stiff", for the lack of a better word. Stuff like the netplay as Canaranjo said, the lack of replays and score for seemingly no apparent reason, the lack of a true 1v1 since you just have to beat the boss battles etc. For now I've only beaten the game 2 times with Reimu and Marisa (also tried Ran but she has a horrible shot type) and for the love of god, what an abysmal last stage boss theme. I was never disappointed with a last stage boss theme and here we are with this atrocity (sorry of you like it). Also, other small things like the lack of a restart from start button (which existed on most of not all of Touhou games for Windows so it's not like ZUN had to implement a new feature) and dialogue skipping by pressing left control. I feel like the game has become a smartphone, removing features left and right. Finally, why are the collectibles so small and transparent?
  11. Some of the new themes can be found here:
  12. Today Touhou 19 was officially released. It has also released on steam. This thread naturally is going to have spoilers so you have been warned. Also, all the info comes from PerlDrop's discord server. Character Lineup: Some character designs:
  13. *After thinking about it for a bit, she decided* Kosuzu: "I'll get some some of these croissants. Oh, and these colorful cookies. All of the seem delicious though." *Kosuzu finished giving her order and looked back at her drink. She opened the bottle and started drinking, only to be met with a completely different taste. She was really surprised. After looking at Aya's drink and then her own, just to confirm that they were the same thing, she tasted it again. But the result was the same, she felt completely different. Immediately see started seeing older memories of hers, memories like reading books with her grandpa and her first time working at Suzunaan. See felt as if the memories were embracing her in warmth.* Kosuzu: "Wow, how did this happen? Aya, did you also feel like you were relieving old memories when drinking this soda?"
  14. @Yumetou Should I leave the effects of the drinks and foods to you? Or should I write about them myself?
  15. *Kosuzu after being hesitant for some seconds, grabs the drink and takes a sip* Kosuzu: "You're right, it feels so strange yet so familiar. But it's definitely not bad. Maybe I'll order one myself" Kosuzu: "Barwoman, I'd like to order the same drink please."
  16. Kosuzu: "How was the drink, did it taste good?"
  17. *Kosuzu after seeing that Aya stopped writing in order to order something, sat closer and decided to start a conversation with Aya* Kosuzu: "Hello, Aya. How has work been? Bunbunmaru has been selling pretty well recently."
  18. Changed the spelling of my name to yankop since that's the actual way it's pronounced and thought that the J might through people off. If you're into linguistics here's the IPA transcription: /'jan.kop/

  19. *Kosuzu, after hearing about this "Dreamy Cafe" from all the rumors in the human village decided to check it out herself. As she's getting closer, she starts to move her head around, observing her surroundings* Kosuzu: (This place seems a lot more normal that people make it out to be) *She steps inside and sees Aya* Kosuzu: (Aya looks like she's writing something, maybe she's focused on her work, I don't know if I should bother her right now) *She ends up sitting at one of the stools, looking for a catalog or a menu to order from, but the closest thing to a menu was a blackboard with nothing but pictures. She kept looking at it, hesitating if she should ask someone for help*
  20. @Yumetou I've updated the character sheet Name: Kosuzu Motoori Age: Unknown (younger that Akyuu) Sex: Female Species: Human Abilities: Deciphering books Occupation: Librarian at Suzunaan Personality: Sweet, considerate but also cowardly. She is worried about a lot of stuff even when she realizes that it sounds too stupid to be true. Background: She has known Reimu and Marisa for some time and she also likes to hang out with youkai like Mamizou Futatsuiwa despite Akyuu and Reimu saying that they shouldn't be trusted. She works part-time at her family's business, a book rental shop at the human village called "Suzunaan". She is good friends with Akyuu, due to their shared interest in books. She likes collecting books, as well as youma books, a rare book written by a youkai. She claims to have the biggest collection of them.
  21. Also, can we control characters related to our own if noone else plays as them? For example, since Akyuu is a good friend of Kosuzu, the character I selected, can I say that Kosuzu went to the cafe with Akyuu and create dialog for both of them etc?
  22. Name: Kosuzu Motoori Age: Unknown (younger that Akyuu) Sex: Female Species: Human Abilities: Deciphering books Occupation: Librarian at Suzunaan Personality: Sweet, considerate but also cowardly. She is worried a lot about some stuff even when she realizes that it sounds too stupid to be true. Background: Not much is known, she has known Reimu and Marisa for some time. sorry for the blatant copy pasting from the wiki
  23. @Yumetou Thanks for the explanation, I would like to join as well. The most appealing ideas for me are Grim Queen’s Fantasy and Flan-Chan's Delightful Quest
  24. Wait, I'm confused, what is this supposed to be? Also, are these titles of fan-works? Sorry if it was really apparent and I just couldn't get it.
