welcome, you're here because of a year in review, eh? this is basically like a questionnaire!! also thank you guys so much for 1 year on moriya shrine, and ofc, all the support!!! let's begin the questionnaire 1) What was the best thing from the community of this year? honestly, all the FA that came in, so many have gotten improvements (like me)!! also we got koishi project and lyrica live dropped another thing!!! 2) What changed for you within the community throughout 2024? basically what you changed in 2024 in the community, for me, it's the activity on moriya shrine and my FA 3) What's your contributions to Touhou? writing stories, artworks, and that game im making!! 4) Why have you stayed in Touhou until today? still have that heavy interest in touhou, plus whats the use when i lose interest and i have now 6 fumos to deal with? 5) Last comments of 2024 Touhou before we move towards 2025 Touhou? this is the year where i really contributed to the touhou space with my arts, writing, and that game that's all, really, i'm running out of good ideas happy new year and see y'all in 2025!!!4 points

1) What was the best thing from the community of this year? Cirno's Bomb-Tastic Adventure by yomogi_soft. Not only is it the best Touhou puzzle game to be released on mobile devices, but it also made me get out pen and paper to solve its puzzles. Let's just say that finding out factors of numbers was not what I expected out of a Cirno fangame. 2) What changed for you within the community throughout 2024? I started to interact more with the Touhou community, which that first step was creating a Moriya Shrine account to post information about a forgotten doujin circle called Distant Union. 3) What's your contributions to Touhou? It's research into Touhou, whatever it is on unused content for Touhou fangames, investigating into old Touhou fanbooks, discovering the world of Touhou mobile games, or simply looking online on different Touhou communities. Outside of that, I decided to write about the Touhou books I been collecting and reading over the years under the thread Touhou Reading Log. 4) Why have you stayed in Touhou until today? Touhou has so many connections to other works outside of the Touhou sphere. Frankly, I am surprised at times on how other creators have been influenced by Touhou in some form will go on to create something else entirely separate from Touhou that sparks a sense of appeal. 5) Last comments of 2024 Touhou before we move towards 2025 Touhou? I didn't get around to saying what my personal wish that the Touhou community could do more in that thread, so I say it here as my final comment: the Touhou community should continue to expand its international relations. Watching the broadcast for BBEX 17 has reminded me of how far Touhou has gone in terms of connecting with Touhou communities of different languages. If it continues that way, I have no doubt that Touhou will be in a fine place for the future. That all I have to say, so have a good new year!2 points

Yes and no. Because it is much more complicated. The statement about nobody caring about PC stuff is quite weird. Who and where? For example, how many good and complicated strategies for consoles and mobile phones can you call? And why ExaGear, Winlator, Mobox, Termux-box and other x86/x86-64 Windows emulators exist then? In some cases people care about consoles only because of "timed exclusives", but consoles nearly never gave any instruments for modding. Why you need to buy multiple consoles when you can buy one PC and be sure you can play all games you want. + many people I know irl prefer to use PC for games. But I'm getting off topic. Nearly all doujin (and Touhou) games are made for PC. The market of doujin games is not reducing and there many good releases. But the number of new Touhou doujin games releases is not as big as it used to be. The reduction of Touhou Doujin is much more complicated process. There are a lot of ways to get Touhou content using mobile phone (this is one of the reasons why the number of younger fans increased) and there are a lot of mobile Touhou fangames (and not only gacha ones). So the problem here is not in PC stuff.1 point

1) What was the best thing from the community of this year? It is hard to say, really, so many things happaned and I could forget some of them (lol). Here I would only mention Western fandom. Patches: Praises of Buttered Heavens (PoBH) definetely the best mod which came out this year. fullhouse patch for 18.5 is quite fun. Fangames: Touhou Roguelike is interesting. IotDF is quite fun. TCL got a great update. There is one unique Chinese Touhou inspired game I liked, it has so many good idea. Fan Music: Stability of Broken heart definitely is the best. Silent Clangorous Discordance it quite a unique album. Animations: Touhou Rickroll and The Youmu & Mystia cartoon. Both are great. 2) What changed for you within the community throughout 2024? I began to communicate more in Touhou fandom. Got more interested in Japanese and Chinese Touhou communities. 3) What's your contributions to Touhou? I think this article is my biggest contribution to Touhou community. Also I was adding info for Lost Media list and helped some people here. 4) Why have you stayed in Touhou until today? I still have a heavy interest in Touhou, and there still a lot of things I don't know about. 5) Last comments of 2024 Touhou before we move towards 2025 Touhou? This year was quite interesting, and I hope the next one will be interesting too. I also hope that Western Touhou fandom would be much more interested in different kinds of fanworks as there are some kinds of them which are not very popular in the Western Touhou fandom. That is all I'd like to say. Have a happy new year!1 point

Great. Added. Also it seems like this game can be bought: https://www.suruga-ya.jp/product/detail/186068854 The funniest thing is that it seems like v2.91 exists and (if I remember correctly) I got it not from this modpack, but I don't remember where I got it. Anyway, if you are interested, I attached the file here: thKaguyaMod-1.7.10-2.91.jar (but it is better to play it with JourneyToGensokyo) Maybe you are right and v2.93 never existed. Thank you for the information. Added.1 point

Finally got an entry up after almost a month. Hoping things will be calmer in the near future. We've a new hiree, and should have a couple more temps trickling in over the next few weeks. Meaning I won't have to work 50 or 60 hour weeks anymore. On the other hand, we were supposed to have more temps last month, and they ended up ghosting us. So, not going to make any promises until I'm asked not to come in on my days off. Anyhow! Hope it makes for good reading.1 point

Earth Rabbits Known as ‘Earth Rabbits’ in English to differentiate them from Moon Rabbits, Earth Rabbits are normal rabbits who have ascended to a form of Youkai. Like other animal Youkai, they are said to be normal animals who have lived for an unusually long period of time. Through this, they gain immortality, sentience and magical powers. Earth Rabbits are disobedient things, seldom taking the orders of others seriously, and are prone to pranks. They are however benevolent towards people who show them kindness, often helping in unexpected ways. They have strong bonds to other Earth Rabbits, often singing and dancing together, or preparing the traditional rabbit dish of Mochi. They are most often found in the Bamboo Forest of the Lost, to the west of the Human Village, at the terminus of the Youkai Trail. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= His breaths were ragged and frightened. The pole’s end thumped against the ground as he desperately felt for the promised entrance. This couldn’t be right...Wriggle wouldn’t do this. She could be testy at times, but why would she lie? And in front of an upset Cirno of all people? With frantic energy, the bamboo pole continued its search. Tapping at the ground rapidly. Each reaffirming a silent secret which gripped at Oscar’s heart… There was nothing there. The taps grew slower. Going from whacks against the sod and dirt to gentle prods. Until it fell from his hand. Slowly, Oscar leaned back. Taking a seat at the base of the stairs. Overhead, the Youkai thudded about. The sound of its footsteps echoing even down here. For a moment, Oscar wondered if anyone would miss him if he never returned. He was already certain he wouldn’t be missed back on Earth. Would Cirno come looking for him? Or would Wriggle change her mind? Would Agappa come for him? Or in a few weeks’ time, would a witch ask if anyone had seen that guy she met a month ago in front of Heida Temple? The thought was sobering. With little else to do, he pulled the top hat from his head. Easing it upside-down. Its inhabitant did not stir, lost in a deep sleep. Nose wriggling as he had some secret dream. Even here, the sight made Oscar smile. “Well Houdini. It looks like this is the end. We had a good run, made a lot of children happy. Its just a shame our story ends without that perfect performance I wanted as a kid.” His hand gently rubbed at the old rabbit’s head. Houdini’s eyes opened in a sleepy glare, which quickly shifted into a look of somnolent joy as Oscar rubbed at his head. Chin easing back for a better rub. “Come to think of it, you’re as old as I was when we met. You’re the only one who ever stuck around when times got bad. I know its because I fed you and all. But you were always there during a performance or whenever I was alone. That still makes you my truest friend. My only friend now.” The creature’s eyes seemed to open wider. His nose wiggled curiously, almost as if staring. Oscar couldn’t stop a chuckle. “Guess this place is my tomb now. I just wish it didn’t have to be both of ours.” The rabbit gazed up at him for a moment, before with more energy he thought possible in the lazy critter, it scrambled from his hat. Long back legs kicking as it lunged from its bed. It hit the ground, even as Oscar stood to try and grab him. But Houdini was already off, running faster than Oscar recalled him in years. The moment the furry creature reached a wall, he began to frantically dig into the wold. A fine mist of dirt spraying after him. By the time Oscar reached the hole, it had already vanished into an old rat tunnel which wound along the wall. Again he was alone. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Out in the grass of the Fortune Teller’s property, a white paw cut through the dirt. A face white as snow, coated by brown, emerged. Tired as he was, the rabbit hopped free. Scurrying along the quiet road. It was well into the afternoon now. The fields wouldn’t empty for hours yet, and the townsfolk were at rest and preparing evening meals. There was no one to observe him as he hopped along the cobblestone road. Before he headed deeper into the town… =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = ...Seeking the quiet medicine stall on the edge of the market... = ...Towards the temple to the north... = ...Moving towards the rental library... = ...Creeping into the tavern... = ...Starting the long climb up the Heida Temple...1 point

Quick end of the year updates. PigeonVoyageur has recently recorded an entire playthrough of こころ劇場 on their Youtube channel. I have done some investigation into this, and I have reason to believe version 2.93 does not exist, or at the very least developed by the original creator. Firstly, going through the original forum page for this mod has never shown any update past v2.90. The second reason is that searching up "thkaguyamod-1.7.10-2.91.jar", leads to a mod pack called Touhou Online ~ Master Spark!, which includes thkaguyamod as part of the mod pack. Due to these two reason, I believe that v2.93 is simply some sort of accident born out of including the mod in a modded server as the only mention on OpenEye for both v2.91 and v2.93 share the same file name, thkaguyamod. Sturm Novahl's Youtube Reply: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12HT9BDWgMQ&lc=Ugj9owQpNsUPIXgCoAEC.8CIQ6P0EvZ28CMPOVaW4qe It appears Nuclear Temmie is likely a recreation of Utsuho’s theme Solar Sect of Mystic Wisdom with temmie sound effects. This video appears to have been created by Sturm Novahl according to a reply they made for a request to create Nuclear Temmie.1 point

YES! YES! YES! NO! NO! NO! Hello there friends, nice to see you all around here at this fine day, as you people might have noticed, I guess I could say I'm in a great mood. After so long, my ally has finally returned to us! Isn't this amazing? I knew we were lacking something these past updates, almost like the vote of a certain very important person was missing... I can even say that I was feeling sadder with each week... But that uneasiness has long since passed because my ally has triumphantly returned! Okay, maybe not so much triumphantly judging by what I've read before typing this but Kymoh is back all the same, it's always good to see familiar faces, and suffice it to say, you were indeed missed. I can't even imagine what happened to you who was always such a vibrant person to sound so sad but: I think Yume appreciates your presence here just as I do. Now let's try to move on to happier topics, shall we? Merry Christmas everyone, I know I'm late and the year is almost over but I didn't have an opportunity before. Well, I did come here every Sunday to see if we had an uptade but since things were rather quiet I assumed we were having a bit of downtime to enjoy December as much as we can, since It's probably the busiest month of the year after all. Wait, really? We are the Kami you mention in the first chapters? I was reading it all over again because I forgot the details of almost everything and noticed this entry in one of the first chapters. Assumed that you were talking about literal Gensokyo gods like the Moriyas lol. Anyway, if you want to take what little remains of 2024 off then by all means, don't let us hold you back. As the literal talking heads would probably say, there is nothing wrong with taking it easy for a bit. Hm, to be honest, I don't really rember much but I think I was debating it with Master Gri or something along these lines, what I can say for sure about it though is that I was really invested into that considering how much I rambled in my last reply, I try to not dwell much in what "past me" did once because sometimes I cringe from it... Seriously now, I wouldn't even read the little story I wrote for Nyoko because I would die from the sheer amount of cringy energy that I would get from it. Lastly, the choice? About that, I'm 90% sure that reading the book would make something happen, even if Oscar doesn't know how to read anything that is not english and is a complete novice about it. Yume said that all choices are viable options so I'm sure we can get a result from that. Why do I still choose the rabbit over the juicy magic? That's an easy question, you see, never before have I read a touhou quest where people take their pets with them, especially a rabbit. No, scratch that, the fact is that people just don't do pets in fantasy stories in general unless they are magic by nature, so you could say I'm really curious as to where we are planning to go with this, the fact we have an earth rabbit is just a bonus, even if Mr Snuggles was a dog I would have still vote for him. And before I go, I decided to prepare a little gift for my ally, Kymoh, as a "Welcome Back" of sorts. It's also an opportunity to try and put a gif in this site, which I had never done before by the way.1 point

Is there any patchnotes that might come with v2.91 that might enlighten on the differences this update did to the mod? I would hope it did more than bug fixes and server support. @themanwiththepan Comment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uebpGEAXNeQ On other news, I decided to check the comments of EP 02X and 24, and found Youtube user @themanwiththepan is claiming he has the lost episodes, at least of 02X, 24, 25. Though it seems their contact info is through a “messaging app that is not TG (Telegram).” I don’t have the patience test out messaging apps for the time being, so I leave this info for others to check into.0 points
