  3. Just as the topic says, what are the anime you guys are currently watching. I would also to see any recommendations when it comes to any you are watching (bonus points with me if it ain't something that is main stream or made before the 2010's) As of right now for me I am watching Initial D First Stage, its a really good anime about cars and drifting however one turn off for some people was the use of 3D models, they really haven't aged well and you can notice it sometimes when watching but its still really good. The best part of the anime in the Euro-beat music that plays, seriously, they are so good and what keeps me watching it. Here are some of the songs, Remember Me and Love is in danger, no idea why most of the songs have to do with love but hey they are still bangers. Another one is Hajime no Ippo, its a boxing anime that's a lot more realistic and grounded but with a hint of shonen magic to keep it from going stale, I like the main character a lot, bit of a loser who shines greatly in the ring. What makes me like this series more is the fact that the series tries to humanize the opponents, This is the first anime to make me feel conflicted to see the MC and the opponents fight, I want them both to win because they usually have great reasons to win but I know that only one of them is coming out of the ring a winner. Well here was my rant on what I was watching, I would like to see what you guys are currently watching and any recommendations, so please share. I don't care if the anime you are watching is some hidden anime no one heard about. I would love to see you talk about it.

  4. I just found out today that you can change the colour of the playable characters in both Touhou 3 and 7. I personally really like Marisa's colour change in touhou 3, the white outfit really suits her.

  6. The game itself can be found on DLsite along with the other two games and a sidestory (for a price). Other than that, I'm lost on where I can find it and with a patch

  7. This is really interesting to look at. Lost media is always fun to explore, and knowing there are Touhou ones out there is really cool. although it makes sense since touhou has been a huge fanbase since 2001 (i know touhou has existed since 1997 but i'm talking about when the first windows release came out) Good luck on your investigation!

  8. Recently I decided to find lost media on warosu and Touhou Grand Fangames List. That also led me to other sites with lost media, so I have found a lot of links for a major update. Everything listed below is already added to list (the first post in this topic). What was added: Games: HRtP ver 1.00 C60 trial version of Kioh Gyoku Project Gian - Shuusou Gyoku Prototype Neo Gian ~ Shuusou Gyoku 東方燐迷歌 ~ Phosphorus Hesitates Song Groovy ちるの (Groovy Cirno) 東方秋神録 ~ Every day of Autumn (FOUND) 群弾 (The Crowd Shooting) 東方黒封戯 (Touhoukokuhuugi) 東方賽銭箱 さなシュー (Sanae Shooting) 東方佰鬼録 ~Guest from devildom~ イラスト by D.C.S. Touhou Fan Anime: A lot of new information about Anime Tenchou x Touhou Project (new images, info + art book) わりと動く同人誌 (+ わりと動く同人誌2 and わりと動く同人誌3) + some archives of obscure versions of Touhou fan anime Other media: Touhou Clock メイドさんの日々 DVD by colonel_AKI Animations: [東方] ハルノカケラ (the first ever Touhou 3D animation (2005)) Archive of Touhou flashes. May contain non-Touhou stuff. A lot of info about lost Touhou MMDs

  9. Touhou 19 doesn't have a option for changing colour, probably since changing all the sprite's colours in a game with more complex sprites would take too much time. touhou 15.5 also has a option for changing colours but unlike 3 and 7, it isn't a easter egg.

  10. I think these was just a neat easter egg that ZUN added, i'm guessing that this was pretty easy to colour swap since the sprites for the older games weren't that complicated. In touhou 3, you change the colours of the playable characters by pressing X while having them selected. In touhou 7, you change their colours by holding Shift and pressing Z on the keyboard while selecting them. From what i know, these are the only games with these feature. If anyone can correct me on if more Touhou games allow this, please tell me.

  11. I generally don't feel like starting with Touhou 6 is a really good idea for newcomers. Touhou 6 is one of the harder games in the Touhou series and could be a little overwhelming for newcomers. I think that Touhou 7, 8 or 4 would be better choices to get started with the Touhou games, as they are easier (especially Touhou 8 which is regarded as the easiest game in the first windows era), they also felt more player friendly for me. I'm not saying you can't start with Touhou 6, I'm just saying that it's not really the best idea for newcomers that don't really know what they are getting into.

  12. Recently I decided to read Touhou discussions on Twitter (worst mistake of my life) and I can only say that Twitter Touhou fans don't understand each other. I have found so many discussions about who are tRUE fans and who are not. Someone made meme video about "I am a Touhou fan, look, I have a lot of Fumos" (I think the joke is obvious) . And discussions begin about that marketable plushies are bad and that the author of the video is not a tRUE fan. A newcomer began his dive into Touhou from LostWord? What should tRUE fans do? Yes, make fan of the newcomer. And after that Twits appear "why are there so many "secondaries" who doesn't want to understand the beauty of danmaku?" (I really recommend to read all replies from attached link (aggressive2hu found some reasons but not the roots of them)). Such tRUE fans are one of the reasons. How do you think which attitude would appeal more: "Ha-ha, a secondary plays a bad game" or "I see you are interested in Touhou. I you want to see the whole beauty you should play original games. I recommend to begin with PCB or IN or MoF on easy" (if OP doesn't have PC, recommend installing ExaGear or Winulator. Touhou games aren't very laggy even on potato phones). (After all of these I even begin to think that /ja/ is much better and more pure place than Twitter (still /ja/ is not a good place)) (Yes, I understand that such argues are meaningless and unimportant if you compare to most things we have discussed here. But the problem is that a lot of fans from there don't understand that, what is important here is the roots of the problem (most of them we have discussed before)) One of the reasons why this happens is because nearly nobody helps the newcomers. You can say "a lot of years ago I came into Touhou myself without any help", but situation is very different from when it was (for example) 10 years ago. Newcomers don't know from where to begin and what is important in the series. A lot of people don't understand how PC or basic file system work. I have so many example of that: a lot of newcomers don't know why thcrap don't work with games from here (they tried to apply it to .torrent files or they had other difficulties) (thcrap translators help the newcomers with such problems), there are detailed videos how to install Touhou games from here and even after that a lot of people had problems (and the creators of the videos tries to help to solve them). What have you done to help them? Why nearly nobody tries to introduce Touhou shmups not as games for Japanese weirdos, but as good games which are possible to beat and they are fun (just try a little harder) (and yes, losing is fun), and if you understand how to play them you see a beautiful world of danmaku. There are so many scripts which are just waiting for you to try them. (And yes, I will repeat this again and again: have you thought why there are so many Geometry Dash fans (this game is really hard)?) You can just say "don't visit Twitter". And it is obvious for many people who don't live in Western countries because in most cases they have better alternatives (and Touhou communities are better there for example Chinese Touhou fandom. I have examples from Touhou fandom in my country, where after questions like "what anime is this?" what the fans reply? No, they don't say something like "ha-ha, stupid anime fans", they reply "it is a game series. If you are interested I recommend to begin with [a game the poster think is best for beginning, mostly 6, 7, 10, 15, 12.3 or manga]"). But what alternatives for Twitter and Reddit are there in the West and how many people do know about them? I don't think most of newcomers know about them. Also, a lot of Touhou fancontent creators mostly use Twitter, so it is difficult not to use it. And for me it is quite sad that a lot of fans cannot make a step further in Touhou and avoid Twitter and Reddit. And I don't know how we can help them from here. And it is sad that most newcomers won't see this list, which could help them: I wonder do you have ideas how we can help the newcomers?

  13. When you peruse any of the download categories, you might now be able to see files from their subcategories without having to visit each one directly (main Downloads page excluded) Created the Articled drop-down menu in the top menu and moved some articles in there Related to the point above, we now have an article for a Touhou Link List (github link) so that you can find more Touhou through your source for all things Touhou Whatever else might have happened in over half a year of no one posting a site changelog
