hey hey hey moriya shrine! the name is koakuma/koa, my real identity is actually toukito. touhou fan for a year now and glad to make an appearance in the moriya shrine of all places. but anyway, as being toukito, i manage this account and hopefully bring some entertainment in the process. i have a humor that will make no sense sometimes. as being koakuma/koa, i use it as my identity in the touhou community and act like koakuma herself like calling patchouli as my mistress lmao. truly, im a traditional-online artist, i have been drawing for years upon years and only 2-ish years ago i took it seriously after doing stickmen for so long. but, i hope to at least bring some joy into the touhou community and the moriya shrine as a whole. hopefully we’ll cross paths again someday but i’ll see you around! - koakuma 1/13/20243 points

Hi, I'm Congrio and I am currently in the process of translating all the the items and menus of Fushigi no Gensokyo -CHRONICLE-, an AQUA STYLE fangame. I'm currently starting with the items which to me is the important thing right now. For this, I'm using TOD Reloaded names of the items but for the items that are not in TOD, I had to improvise some names because the text have to fit in the menus but I'm receiving help so everything is possible for now I guess. Here are some pictures. If you know japanese and you want to help, dm me.1 point

So...uhh, hello everyone. I'm not gonna say anything fancy here, I've known Touhou for a few years by now but I've just recently gotten into the fandom. I'm probably one of the few, if not the only Italian fan on these forums lol. I've played the PC-98 games and some of the Windows ones, I'm not a complete noob but honestly I don't care about playing Touhou like a pro, I'm simply here to talk about the franchise and everything1 point

for me, i made a design of a character with a z which is like the first time a touhou character had a z at the start but that was before zanmu was introduced, so i took inspiration from the design and remake her into something fresh. (no pic provided yet btw) and her name was “yokono saikyuu” (which according to google translate, it’s “next to”, “the fastest”) so i took that for an ability which was to manipulate speed. like any kind of speed wether it’s time or running speed, and can go from teleporting or complete stop. i have an idea for like a servant to yokono which is a vampire that’s older than the scarlets (800 years old actually) and no idea what she can manipulate yet nor a confirmed name yet. but anyway, yokono saikyuu is 2000 years old youkai of sorts (no confirmed species) and so that’s about it for yokono, nothing really finalized yet. so yeah that’s what i got lmao heeeeeeeee1 point

I'd say it counts as an FC (Fan character) which is like the little twin sibling of the OC (as to me, the definition of OC is an original character for an original series, whereas an FC is an, implied original character made by a fan for an existing series. Anyone can feel free to correct me or elaborate on this) Either way though creation is awesome and I second suyu_ in that it is indeed admirable when people put the time and effort into it. I misread that as "kapparapper" and imagined someone dressed as Nitori being a DJ at a club1 point

@The_Trader Since I mentioned it and you suggested I do so, here it is! This was super fun to do and I feel doing this kinda quiz/list thing helps you really put into perspective your own perception of the series as well as expressing to others who/what in particular pulls you to the series. I sure have a lot more to learn... says Hime with excitement~ Anyway here goes will try to be brief (hah!): ...Whew. That's it. I mostly typed that for myself, but if anyone actually read this, thank you! It was fun to write and I hope, even if slightly, anyone who read it liked it too! I'd love to see other's lists too!1 point

Sorry Hikiko Hime, but there is official material that shoots holes through your theory. But first, the reason why the Hakurei shrine is a rundown place is because Reimu is trying to fix it up. Her ability to float has allowed her to walk across a river unknowingly without getting her socks wet because the fish jumped to allow her to walk across as the three fairies noticed when they tried to trick her into getting her socks wet. To add to that, Kasen Ibaraki made sure Reimu knew she was fighting someone because she bet on the opponent and knew Reimu would likely lose if she did that. Thus it can be assumed that the more Reimu tries to do something the worse that something gets done. The shrine is also in a perpetual state of poverty (Sounds like a game title: Touhou Kanraiden ~ Perpetual State of Poverty) because Reimu does her best effort to not be poor. There are frequent (enough) events at the Hakurei shrine that it would be weird if the "overly curious" as you put didn't get into at least one gathering at the Hakurei shrine. From the annual Spring flower-viewing held at the shrine to the parties to the one time Kasen presented her right arm as a museum piece in the shrine itself; I would actively disbelieve any attempts made to say that the Hakurei shrine is not a social gathering place for Gensokyo. Especially because Immaterial and Missing Power's incident revolves around there being too many parties at the Hakurei shrine. Yukari is also not the only one who can freely travel between Gensokyo and the outside world, Kasen Ibaraki can too. Yukari even laments on Kasen not taking what are essentially sterilization protocols causing western dandelions to invade Gensokyo, overthrowing the Japanese dandelion. Okina can too, but likely because of doors on the back of humans in the outside world rather than any backdoor boundary shenanigans (pun intended) and likely sterilizes like Yukari in her land of the back door. Reimu is also a lot more powerful than she lets on, as her last word of Imperishable Night, Fantasy Heaven, is stated by Marisa to both be something she can keep up for until the enemy is defeated and that she can do that technique whenever she wants. Something she can also do in Scarlet Weather Rhapsody and Hisoutensoku. So it would be a stretch to say she can't deal with any potential unshackling of the true power of the Hakurei shrine's Kami. Though I do agree with the thesis that Gensokyo is the Kami of the Hakurei shrine as I see no issues it poses or can pose to already established canon that I happen to know of. For as far as I'm aware too, the Hakurei shrine does not have a special building to keep the holy object safe, suggesting that the object in question is either an ethereal thing or too large to steal; both of which fit Gensokyo to a T.1 point
