  1. Oh hey, we need to pair cirno with another character? Unfortunately, it’s not winter, so I guess we gotta use dai again. Day 50: Letty Whiterock Letty never shows up. She is an interesting concept, being an embodiment of winter and snow, but only being active during winter. Her only real presence is within fan content, where she ends up being pretty neat. She usually shows up as a mother figure to cirno, and it usually end with her offering advice that goes on her deaf and dumber ears. Her design is pretty basic honestly, and she doesn’t have a stand out theme. Overall, a character that hasn’t got to shine yet due to her generally uninteresting aspects.

  2. Yeah dude, like I just did that 10-30 minutes ago and you don't know how happy I was. I really wanted to scream but it was kinda late at night so I just celebrated with a fist in the air or something like that. I know this achievement isn't crazy like the others, but I'm just so happy I beat the game that I have to post about it. When I saw the ending with Reimu,Remillia,Yuyuko,... talking to each other, I just smiled at the conversation. I'm just so glad about beating the game man. I calculated and practiced to beat the game! I was on my last bomb at the end! And when the time counted to 0 at the last stage? It was euphoria. I also want to say that I like the cherry border system because it really brings out the courage in you, what I mean by that is that when it's activated you kinda like force yourself to make risky moves and find a way to dogde to bullets. It makes the game pretty fun to play! I guess it's gonna be harder from here on out with the other games haha. But maybe that's what makes it fun or what the other games have to offer that is going to be fun, idk but anyways! Sorry if I wrote a bit too long, I'm just enjoying myself right now. Have a nice day everyone!

  4. I got introduced to Touhou earlier this year and have fallen in love with it. The music, memes, and official / fan made content is really AMAZING all around. I'm not very actively social so if I don't post much, its just a bad personal habit of mine I haven't really been able to break. I am glad to be here though and hope you all won't mind my stay. - Cheers

  7. I'll share what I learned by just playing(I didn't read the manual): "Z" and "shift" behave as you would expect, "Z" for shooting and "shift" for slowing down. You can hold "X" to release your aura and charge your attack, you can use the power you collect(more on how to collect below) to charge up to 4 bars, bar 1 is just a weak special attack and bar 2 is a slightly more powerful version of the same attack, bar 3 releases you EX attack, which will unleash a danmaku on your enemy screen, and bar 4 releases a boss on your enemy screen for him to deal with. And finally "C" is just the bomb key, it will consume all your power, but can save you when you're trapped, try to use it when there are a lot of enemies on screen, so you can get higher combos. The ways I noticed to collect power are by shooting down enemies, pacifying beast spirits with your aura, and grazing bullets, but maybe there are more. The beast spirits can be reflected to your enemy screen by "pacifying" them using your aura(hold "X") and them shooting at them. There's no active cards like in Unconnected Marketeers and 100th Black Market, just passive or equipment cards. Meaning you don't need to think a lot about what cards you have, they will just give you a little bonus like more power or more projectiles. You can take 2 hits before losing a life, I will call it a shield, after being hit once you can unleash an EX attack(3 bars) or a boss attack(4 bars) to "recharge" your shield. At the climax of the battles there are times when your character will release an EX attack or a boss attack on its own, it doesn't consume bars, but I'm not sure what are the conditions for it happening, but I'm 95% sure that it only happens when you get combos around 100, that's why I recommend trying to use your bombs only when there are a lot of enemies on screen, that's how I got unbelievable combos above 300 Hope that can help you.

  8. @Jaz:3 The videos are still available for me, so I suspect its a regional limitation. Your best bet would be to look up the soundtrack on your own, since anything I find would have to be tested against your private location. That being said, here is a different playlist than the one I used: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvNp0Boas721k5FYiicCFoifRvtDpAEx_ The tracks featured were Boss Battle ("Boss Theme"), Scrooge's Office, Transylvania, I've Got a Bad Feeling About This ("Ominous"), Money Bin, and Mount Vesuvius. Sorry I can't be of more help.

  9. A couple years ago, I played a bunch of games, mainly fighting games through Fightcade and one of them was the King of Fighters series. I played KOF 98 the most because that's where there are more players to play online with. I sucked at KOF 98, so I went to Youtube to watch some guides to get better, but when I was watching it, I noticed the background music sounds pretty cool! So I went to the description and a little more research to find the music. It turns out to be the Ost from KOF 2000. The music in that game is a bop. Here are a couple of my favorites: Before writing this I was considering to put in the original Ost or the rearranged version. I decided to choose to original one because I want you guys to listen to it raw so you know what it sounded like before the enhanced version, think about it and appreciate it. Of course, I think the rearranged version is also equally awesome as the original, actually I think the rearranged version made the original sounds even BETTER! And that is amazing. Anyways, I think the the Ost to KOF 2000 is really fun and makes you want to keep playing or keep trying because of the hard bosses that SNK is famous for . If you want to listen to the rearranged version because of how amazing the original sounds then here it is. The rearranged version really made the Ost sound even better.

  10. The second stage of smoke rings Day 49: Sannyo Komakusa Sannyo is actually a quite interesting character sometimes. She’s interesting because of her gambling den, in which hasn’t been explored much. It definitely has potential as a location, as gathering spots that are more neutral are generally uncommon in gensoukyo, with the only other notable place like that I can think of being miyoi’s bar. Sannyo herself is cool, with a unique ability too. The mental picture of her using it sounds neat, as she uses her smoke to manipulate people. Generally, it’s for calming patrons. Her design is neat, but a bit plain, but the smoke dragon definitely Carrie’s it. Overall, I’m not opposed to seeing her more, as she seems to have much potential.

  12. Congrats. This felt almost nostalgic to read. It's only been 2 year since I started playing Touhou, and when I finally beaten Remillia for the first time, with continues, man I was hyped. Good luck on the rest on your Touhou-journey, you'll need it.

  17. No LoZ game has quite reached the level of acclaim and esteem of The Ocarina of Time. Still considered among the greatest video games ever made, it has continued to be a foundational influence for the medium as a whole. It's soundtrack is similarly iconic, featuring a wide variety of styles that work surprisingly well with the N64 sound; while the more notable motifs receive frequent reuse, I'd argue there's little significant improvement to be had in the overall presentation. While many of the game's pieces are well known, the soundtrack is surprisingly large (for an older game), and there are still a few rare gems in its tracklist; it's well worth the perusal if one is willing to take the time.
