  1. @Gou the frog Not the ambitious project, but potentially an honorary companion considering the volume: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLADHzEaWA6KAU6VfZBMmhErDn-qoe7fvO LndWnd - End of Daylight ~ Dawn of Dark I'm not confident in my genre identification for this piece (nor in my choice of artwork, but Noroiko is even harder to search for than Elis). Mama Purity - Power of Darkness RMX (Remake) I remember back when I thought this was the full extent of EDM; thanks to the tournaments, and especially Shionne, that is no longer the case. Stone McKnuckle - World of Empty Dreams Hidden gems like this are why I'm committed to this current project. The acoustic [hybrid] intro is enough to carry an arrangement on its own, but the main body of the track stands out just as much. There isn't much more Touhou in the artist's repertoire, but I'd still recommend checking out some of his other works.

  2. personally I'm really liking Lost Word. The gacha system seems much more fair than other gacha games I've played. in most gacha games trying to get characters without spending money feels like a complete shot in the dark with pretty unclear pity systems being the only reprieve. with Lost Word I feel like I've gotten every character I've really focused on and while I feel like the pity system is much less forgiving than other gacha games (to the point that I've only ever gotten to use it 3 times) it's at least very clear and obvious about exactly when you're going to benefit from pity and you get to choose exactly what you get when the pity points reach the required numbers. I feel like the gameplay is more fun than people give it credit for (then again I do often challenge myself to do 1 character runs of levels, often when that one character is below the recommended level. this might be why I feel the game is also more strategic than others give it credit for, of course there'll usually be more strategy in a challenge run than a normal one). also while I do see the point about alternate versions of characters being more powerful I notice that this is only really the case with the Super Festival Characters. post-Fantasy Rebirth my L1 Reimu and L1 Marisa both have higher stat totals than their A1 (the EoSD version) counterparts (granted, this is just stat totals, I'm not aware enough of the meta or whatever to understand if the A1 versions have some other trick to give them the edge). I've not yet leveled up my Fantasy Rebirth Sakuya and Cirno to see if the same is true for them but I suspect it might be, my Fantasy Rebirth Youmu is pretty close to the A7 version despite being over 20 levels below her so I'd suspect that this is pretty universal for all Fantasy Rebirth characters to be stronger than their non-Super Festival variants. if Byakuren and Aya get Fantasy Rebirths I suspect they'll also be stronger than their A12 and A9 versions respectively. since most Fantasy Rebirth characters are from the normal wish pool (only Yukari and Kasen have been from Festival prayers) I'd say this is a good thing. Super Festival characters will probably always be the strongest (which I'm fine with as long as they're given a plot reason for it, I'm a little iffy about the fact that all the Lunar War versions are stronger despite having their powers sealed. if anything I feel like that should make them the weakest version of the characters. the same applies to the new Remilia, she's established in the story to be extremely weakened, seemingly unable to even stand, but she's somehow far stronger than L1 Remilia) purely due to their rarity but as long as we keep on getting some normal units in the high tiers I see no problem with that at the end of the day I'd say that if people don't like something they just shouldn't play it. no need to keep on dragging it out as something to hate (and while I don't think this particular thread is doing that I do see people in other places doing it a lot. Lost Word and Memories of Phantasm seem to be the punching bags of the Touhou community. I understand that some people might not like the overly fanon aproach that both works take but they both still clearly have plenty of work put into them and if people don't like the product they can just find another game (I understand that there are slim pickings for another Touhou anime so people are mostly stuck with Memories of Phantasm), perhaps even make one themselves to give the rest of the Touhou community something to enjoy.) wow, this turned into quite a rant. I only intended to write 1 or 2 lines at most...

  3. OK, this has been long overdue, time to get stuck into this. So, what other series do I like, eh? As far as fandoms go Touhou is absolutely the one I am most involved in, but of course I have many other interests as well, mainly in video games. It has been said before on this forum that I am a fan of Monster Hunter, so let's start there. While I haven't played many games spanning across the whole series, it still holds a place as one of my favourites of all time. I have my friend to thank for introducing me to this series, who convinced me to try the demo of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on the 3DS. And ho boy, let me tell you that demo alone is absolutely gripping. Monster Hunter is often considered a difficult game to get into, everything from controls, to difficulty, to understanding systems, it's an action RPG game with a lot of complexity and gameplay that doesn't go easy on you, but when it clicks, it clicks, and as someone who enjoys a good challenge, it didn't take long for it to click with me. It's basically "boss fights, the game". So now I'm hooked on this demo, but wait - there's a new MH game coming out! The demo for that game comes out ahead of release, so I now have even more demo content to get me hyped up before the release, and so my journey is set to begin with Monster Hunter Generations. In retrospect, going with Monster Hunter 4 would honestly have been the better decision since that game is held in high regard for many reasons, but it didn't matter at the time, as I enjoy the crap out of MHGen anyway, and my friend gets it too so we can play multiplayer, an aspect which makes MH even better. I've since continued my journey with Generations Ultimate, Rise, and soon I'll have Rise's expansion to look forward to, Sunbreak. I've been on this paragraph for way too long now so I'll wrap things up, but one of the things I also love about MH is something I like in common with Touhou and that's the community, even if I'm not involved with it the MH community are the one of the most helpful and welcoming groups out there. So what else can I talk about? Well, this is less known about me, but I'm also quite into the Warcraft universe (however I should add a disclaimer here, that Blizzard is a shitty company and I'm aware of it). I used to play World of Warcraft for a time, although I wasn't super integrated into the whole multiplayer aspect and grinding endgame dungeons with a guild and such, I just spent time exploring the overworld to level up my character, occasionally joining up with a friend who also played at the time. I don't play anymore because it's bloody expensive, not helped by the fact that it's a huge timesink, fans aren't happy with the current direction of the game, and the fact the gameplay loop of WoW is just kind of boring, yet strangely addicting... however, there is another side of Warcraft that I can still enjoy, and that is Hearthstone. On the offchance you don't know, Hearthstone is free to play spin-off game of Warcraft where you collect cards and build a deck to verse other players. If you're looking for a well balanced, engaging strategic card game, that's... not what Hearthstone is. Hearthstone is random, chaotic, wacky, unpredictable, and most certainly not balanced - but you just have to understand that's part of the appeal. Also, collecting cards is enjoyable, and although you can spend money on the game, free to play is doable and very appreciated for a TCG. Seriously, I also used to collect and play cards for the Pokemon TCG. SO EXPENSIVE. The fact Hearthstone is a TCG I can play for free makes me come back to it, and as mentioned, the craziness that can ensue under the right conditions might seem unfair to some, but it's inherently what makes the game entertaining. There are many other video games I've played, for example I'm a fan of metroidvania stuff, but I'll leave it at that, since I'm not about to make this into a fat list of everything I've ever played. What is worth an extra paragraph though is tabletop games! As you may have picked up on by now through my mention of Hearthstone and Pokemon TCG, I am a fan of card games and indeed board games. I own a few myself, but of course I have a friend group to play with as well, and it's by pooling our different games together that we get to experience a wide variety of fantastic board games... OK it's mostly just one guy who has all the stuff, but I digress. Cool strategic board and/or card games that you can play 1 on 1 and/or in a group that come from niche indie board game makers are absolutely my jam... so, speaking of jam, makes you wonder why I recently created a card game for that game jam, hmmmm?

  6. I believe this's a good time to post this absolute gold of a channel. You don't see too much music box arranges of Touhou but here, one is determined to arrange all of Touhou, official or not even remastering one's work. I've been holding on to it for a while and it's the perfect opportunity to share. Don't forget to check out "The Sea that Reflects One's Home Planet", "Primordial Beat ~ Pristine Beat", "Legend of Horai" versions.

  8. FUCK ZUN, I can somewhat understand taking down the games that are on steam because at least all I have to do is download a Vpatch and I'm good, but he is taking down every official game. He does not deserve any support from fans after this and diserves all his games to be pirated, FUCK ZUN, I hope he gets VPN and hardware banned from every piracy website.
