New to Touhou and shizzle

Hi everyone, I am pretty much brand new to Touhou. I have been listening to the music off and on for a few years but I honestly never knew it was an expansive game series with tons of other media as well so a friend got me into it! I have been trying out the games for like two weeks now.

I am brand new to bullet hells and all I have done so far is beat Touhou 1 and 2 on normal. 
I do however love the fighting games so I have been playing a ton of 12.3 and 15.5 and find myself pretty decent at the game.

There are all sorts of things for all sorts of tastes when it comes to Touhou, so take your time to explore this magic world filled with cute anime girls (and awesome music).

Since you mentioned these fighting games, I'd also recommend playing Touhou 14.5 (Urban Legend in Limbo, or "ULiL" for short). It's very similar to 12.3 and 15.5 with good story as well.
Also worthwhile to check some fan games if you are interested. There is gold hidden at every nook.

well i can now say you have played some dangerously underrated games. well maybe touhou has a perfectly reasonable bad rep but the other pc 98 games are better than people give them credit for. You can play the games in complete chronological order or you can just play the games from touhou 6 onward as tha is where the series reboots. you probably knew that but im just putting it out there. My favourite touhou game is touhou 10. good gameplay, characters and it has my favourite soundtrack. However you mentioned the fighting games and while i have only played a couple i would reccomend playing 10.5 if you havent as that was the first one, i think.
