Chinese Touhou websites are under attack

Hello. Some sad and important news.
Chinese Touhou websites are currently under DDoS attack. Chinese Touhou Wiki (THBwiki), a lot of forums, sites related to Touhou events and other big important Touhou sites and (according to some Chinese fans) some QQ and Telegram Touhou-related chats and Touhou-related servers for multiplayer games are under organised attack, which began 5 days ago and is becoming stronger day by day. Today the all services related to THBwiki which were hosted by Nyasama became down. To somehow understand the damage to Chinese Touhou fandom imagine if in 2011 Touhou wiki, MotK, gensokyo.org and most other Western Touhou sites became down at the same time.

Nobody knows the goal of the attack and how long it would last. Maybe Western and Japanese Touhou sites are under looming threat. We should be prepared to that. The more people would know about this the more chances we have solve this problem.

The large-scale attacks on Chinese Touhou Community still continuing today, and the number of the victims has increased to ten. THBWiki and Patchyvideo (THVideo) have announced suspension of external services. According to some reliable sources, yesterday from afternoon to night, the attackers used a lot of accounts to upload a large amount of politically sensitive content to THBWiki and Patchyvideo, which may be one of the factors that prompted the closure of the website. According to an announcement from Nyasama, they used attack methods including but not limited to DDoS, DoS, CC and sending illegal content to destroy Chinese Touhou websites that contain the word "Touhou Project" on the page. Secondly, the attackers may further extend to various Touhou QQ groups and BiliBili live.Please be aware.
In the deteriorating situation,there are some suggestion.
1. Use Cloudflare and other security measures to protect the website.
2. Hide the visible links.
3. Close the issue tab of the Github repos.
4. Suspend the Touhou live on live platforms such as BiliBili.
5. Be alert to anonymously posted illegal information.
6. Review the add-group applicants.
7. Protect personal information.
8. Actively to use the reporting function.

Hello Chinese Touhou fans. I know you read my posts. Sadly, I don't know Chinese and cannot register an account on Chinese services.

I just want to help you and other Touhou fans which may be in danger too in the future. If you think that my posts will make the situation only worse, you can write it here or in the tieba.baidu.com thread, because I can read from there. I really respect your works and want your websites to be restored as fast as possible.

Updates about the situation.

The attack became even stronger.

More Chinese Touhou sites are under attack (added some reports about that in the first post).

In some threads in Chinese forums some messages dissapered.

There are rumors that the attack is from the West (USA, Canada).

The first to attack the touhou website was a political terr0rism channel on telegram

And I think the person who attacked Minecraft and the person who attacked Touhou Websites should be the same person,they both use the DDos attack,but they didn't use the "political“

It was acquired by bilibili for several years,in this year early,they think MCBBS is not worth continuing,so they made up a reason why they were hacked to shut down mcbbs. https://club.gamersky.com/activity/787767?club=1468

bmclapi is a service that speed up download minecraft libraries

mc encyclopedia is a curseforge-like website you can find minecraft on it

Some updates about the situation.
The attack became a little bit weaker and some more sites got restored ( https://status.patchyvideo.com ) (+ sites related to lilywhite)

 

But there are some reports ( https://tieba.baidu.com/p/9087498757 and screenshot below) showing that the attackers just changed their focus on QQ bots (like Telegram bots) and Touhou related servers for multiplayer games. Sadly, sites related to THBwiki and Nyasama are still not restored. The goal of the attack is still unclear.

There have been no updates for more than a month, so there is an update.

Most Chinese Touhou sites were restored.

During the second half of July the attackers mostly attacked servers related to Touhou and sometimes they attacked Chinese Touhou sites. But at the beginning of August the attack stopped. By the 3rd of August Chinese Touhou Wiki was fully restored. Some sites still haven't been restored but I think that they will be restored soon.

Chinese Touhou Vote site still hasn't been restored. Chinese Touhou Vote is planned to be arranged in several months. Let's hope that the site will be restored and nothing bad will happen.

Oh dear god, that's so harsh, why someone would do this??? Thank you too much for the information, even if I am not a Chinese fan, I think is still pretty important to worry about other Touhou Fandoms from another places of the world (in this case, China) and if we can help somehow (or more like, if we are even capable) then we should take action and help them, because they should be as our right arm. They are important too.
