I'm finding a way to download and play a rpg fan game

The fan game i'm talking about is "Touhou chronicles tales of the two immortals". I have been finding it for a while now but it seems all the link i could find are dead. May anyone know how to download it? Also, i would be grateful if the game is in English too.

I think this is the 1st chapter and it is fully translated, there is a link in the post on the facebook page where they said there are more info you can find about the game. I don't know if there are any more chapters but I can't find a any. There's a forum where the poster said there is chapter 2 but the link is dead, if you scroll down to the bottom you can see it. I have some updates about the game, turns out the google drive link in facebook doesn't seems to work anymore but I did found another website.

According to RealeLY in his post, he said the game has 9 chapters and you can now play chapter one of the game translated in English. You can download Ch.1 in the link I just pasted in Mega or Mediafire (in the website if you scroll down a bit you can see the links).

It looks like the game is quite old, like around a decade old or more. RealeLY said that the team made the game broke apart years ago, so the game might have been abandoned. There is also another user who said a Chinese team translated the game up to Ch.5 which you can download in the team's Discord but the link itself and many other Discord links also do not work or don't exist anymore. There are also some fan links hosted on Baidu Netdisk, but it requires a Chinese phone number to download. RealeLY said that they likely won't translate the rest of the game, but if they do, updates will be posted on their thread. Overall out of the many websites that I have searched, the download link in the shrinemaiden website seems to be the only one working or maybe there is a link to the game with all the chapters translated lying somewhere...in the dark corners of the internet...waiting to be discovered...but who knows haha. Or maybe just contact the team or someone in the chinese t2h2 fandom if they know something about the game. Maybe then, you might have a chance to play the game or something..

But yeah the game and the whole project looks pretty... dead, it's so hard to find a way just to play the game fully. But regardless, I hope the game can be revived again and be more accessible for others to enjoy the whole experience. If not, then it might just fall into obscurity and might not even be playable, like some kind of Touhou lost media...I wonder if those type of t2h2 lost media videos exist on youtube? I might check it out later.

UPDATE: I don't know if I missed it when I was reading or they post again after a month and I didn't check it. But it seems the discord invitation link that have 5 translated chapters is WORKING now. Although RealeLY said that the translation for the 5 chapters aren't very good...hence why he took it upon himself to translate it from scratch. 

RealeLY hasn't post anything new tho so that's about it.

Oh, I happened to just noticed now, today, that there is a member from Moriya Shrine on the website too, I think it might be the same person given the name...

I also decided to play the game today (well I finished downloading it), so I'm not playing it now, maybe some times later

You don't have to if you don't want to dude, no pressure, I was just being curious, haha. But if there is any problems with the game then we can solve it together. The reason I went into this game is because I was also curious about it and I'm going to play it if I'm not so lazy.

FIXES TO RUN THE GAME IF YOU HAVE THESE ERRORS

 

Alright, I think I've got it.... I've been trying to play the game....I failed many times... BUT after doing some research recently, now I can play !!!!

 

First of all, if anyone have an error that says "RGSS-RTP Standard not found" (like the image above), please install the RPG MAKER XP package from this link:

After that, run the exe setup and just "next" everything and let it do it for you.

If you go into the file labeled "Game" (not the exe) and delete the word "Standard" and run the game, it'll also works (idk why), but you might only get to the start of the game and get the message that the game can't find some music file, downloading the package also leads to this problem (well...my problem when I encountered it).

 

Then after trying to run the game and it says something half english half chinese like "can't find file audio/bgm/horai legend" (I think Horai legend was the the name of the song, the correct name).

Remember to change your PC's locale to Chinese (Simplified, China) I don't know if this is necessary though, but it worked for me after changing the PC's locale from English to Chinese back and forth many times lol. Try switching it back and forth like me, see if it works.

 

And if there's some error related to fonts or something, just go to the fonts folder to install something (info from the readme file, not the file in the second .rar).

Might be the last post here on this topic, because... I've played the game! I finished chapter 1 and honestly it's pretty good, there were some bugs tho, but those weren't too bothersome to me. I like the dialog (there's also ALOT of swearing lol), gameplay is ok (the engine is based on a version of RPG Maker btw), the plot is alright, I really dig the new designs for the t2h2 characters (especially Mokou cus she looks really cool)....Overall, chapter 1 was a nice experience and I'd like to play more chapters in the future if the whole game with all the chapters are translated of course.

It's unfortunate that the devs for the game broke apart. Hopefully, at the end of the final chapter, it will have a conclusive end and not leave us with a massive cliffhanger. But yeah, I recommend playing the game! Thx for reading this short review of the game.

And thank you @Cirno9Baka for asking this question in the first place! I wouldn't have known about the game to play it for myself without you and my curiosity to go down this rabbit hole. Thank you RealeLY for translating the game and the devs for making it.

I wonder if all of the game will be translated someday?... But hey! that's just a theory! A GAME THEORY!
